Opening his eyes and looking around, Velin found the scene before him far more prosperous than the desolation on the other end.
On the island stood a city centered around the Teleportation Array.
With a cursory sweep of his senses, he found that fewer than five thousand people occupied this city, which could accommodate one hundred thousand.
More than thirty kilometers from the city lay a gigantic port used for transporting supplies.
Like the city, it was sparsely populated. Aside from Magic Puppets, there was practically no sign of life.
"Good afternoon, Count Sir."
Velin withdrew his gaze, looked at the High-tier Gold Arcanist before him, and asked, "Are you in charge of this place?"
"Yes."
"Was this city also built on my grandfather's orders?"
The Low-tier Gold Arcanist replied, "Count Sir, the city and port were both constructed under my master's guidance, along with the Teleportation Array."
"They have now been fully completed and can be put into use at any time once sufficient personnel are available."
"If you have the time, I would be honored to show you around the city and port."
"We can visit the city another time. Take me to see that gigantic port first," Velin said.
"Yes."
A few minutes later, a fifteen-meter-long Floating Ship descended from the sky and stopped before the Teleportation Array.
"Count Sir, this way."
Above the gigantic port, Velin observed the arrangements below while listening to the High-tier Gold Arcanist explain the port's basic setup.
"Count Sir, the entire port covers three hundred and seventeen square kilometers, with storage facilities accounting for eighty percent of the area."
