As the department responsible for reviewing and verifying military merits, the Military Merit Verification Department had the authority to revoke merits nobles had earned during a war once the fighting was over. It was often a thorn in the side of the Isia Kingdom's army commanders and great nobles, who hated it with a passion but could do nothing about it.
When a noble's military merits were revoked, the consequences affected not only the noble in question, but also their immediate superior and legion commander, and could even implicate the Supreme Commander of the forces fighting abroad.
The existence of this department safeguarded the Isia Kingdom's military merit system, kept the kingdom functioning steadily, and prevented fraud and false claims of military merit.
As its name suggested, the Nobility Rank Review Department oversaw reviews of promotions in noble rank within the kingdom. Aside from military merits, all other requirements had to be reviewed by its officers.
Only after the Military Merit Verification Department confirmed that a noble had accumulated sufficient military merits and the noble submitted an application would officers from the Nobility Rank Review Department set out to conduct their review.
The Public Order Patrol Department, the least important of the three, was responsible for checking whether the number and quality of Public Order Troops in each provincial capital met the required standards, how well governors administered their regions, and how the troops in the frontier military towns were trained.
