Though the old man was advanced in years, he truly could not match Kyle when it came to board games.

"All right, I concede."

"You let me win, Lord Tarius," Kyle replied with a smile, looking up.

"With your skill, would you consider becoming a visiting professor at the Mage Academy? Name your terms," Tarius said, reluctant to let Kyle go.

"Thank you for the invitation, but I refuse," Kyle answered without hesitation.

"Ah—"

After leaving the dean's office, Velin and Kyle walked side by side.

"That old man actually tried to poach my people. I hope nothing goes right for him over the next few months," Velin said indignantly as he stepped out of the central magic building.

Kyle's expression turned strange at those words. He had a feeling Tarius would not have an easy few months ahead.

After leaving the First Mage Academy, Velin and Kyle headed straight for the tavern where they had arranged to meet Aljettah and the others.

"Velin, let me tell you, there's a wonderful place you missed. It's such a shame you didn't go."

Back at the inn, Aljettah draped an arm around Velin's shoulders and spoke excitedly.

"It wouldn't happen to be one of those improper places, would it? Be careful, or that fiancée you found in the Capital of the Holy Third Dawn Kingdom might come over and beat you senseless," Velin teased with a grin.

"Do I look like that kind of dragon?" Aljettah said with a solemn expression.

"Was it a place that brewed liquor?" Velin asked uncertainly.

"That's right." Aljettah beamed as he shared the news with Velin. "Once we get back and I figure it out, you'll be the first to taste it. I'll set up a Teleportation Array and make a fortune."
