Zhao Xuan helped Shrek survive Spirit Hall’s attacks and reach the tournament finals, where the team defeated Spirit Hall’s Golden Generation to claim first place. As Shrek left Spirit City, three Titled Douluo ambushed the group, and Zhao Xuan faced Chen Sheng while suspecting Spirit Hall had used the Elephant Armored Sect as a pawn.

• Zhao Xuan and the other defenders drove off Spirit Hall’s attackers, then continued with the delegation to Spirit City as Xue Qinghe tried and failed to recruit Zhao Xuan.
• Zhao Xuan warned Xiao Wu that Spirit Hall might target her, while Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing revealed their royal backgrounds and prepared to face Dai Weisi and Zhu Zhuyun.
• Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing defeated their elder siblings with the Hell White Tiger, helping Shrek advance toward the finals despite fears that Spirit Hall would target Tang San.
• Bibi Dong announced an individual-elimination final, and Shrek defeated Spirit Hall’s Golden Generation through Tang San’s tactics and the team’s coordinated attacks.
• Bibi Dong conceded, Shrek claimed first place, and the team distributed the three tournament soul bones before Zhao Xuan gave Ning Rongrong an additional illusion-type soul bone.

Zhao Xuan and his allies survived Spirit Hall’s assault, then separated as they pursued their own paths. After investigating a deadly altar and visiting Ning Rongrong, Zhao Xuan reunited with Oscar and Xiao Wu in the Star Dou Great Forest, where he began sparring with Er Ming.

• Zhao Xuan fought off Spirit Hall’s forces until Tang Hao arrived, drove them back, and reunited with Tang San.
• After the battle, Zhao Xuan copied Mu Yuan’s healing skill, bade farewell to Tang San and the Shrek group, and took Hermione and his parents to Flower Valley.
• Zhao Xuan trained in Flower Valley until he reached level sixty, then investigated Blue Sunshine Academy with Hermione after Mu Yuan reported that its students and teachers had died.
• Zhao Xuan found and destroyed an altar beneath the academy, releasing a shadow that recognized his forbidden lightning and fled.
• Zhao Xuan visited Ning Rongrong and learned that Ning Fengzhi’s investigation implicated Xue Qinghe in suspicious events involving Spirit Hall’s Douluo.
• Zhao Xuan and Hermione entered the Star Dou Great Forest, where Zhao Xuan saved Oscar from a Fear Demon Bear and killed the man who had abandoned him.

Zhao Xuan explored the Star Dou Great Forest, survived an encounter with Di Tian, and grew stronger before taking Hermione south to Star Luo City. There, they reunited with Zhu Zhuqing and watched Dai Mubai and Dai Weisi fight for the throne, with Mubai gaining the upper hand.

• Zhao Xuan fought Er Ming, trained with the forest’s overlords, and helped suppress the volcanic energy beneath the crater while Oscar set out alone to find a suitable Spirit Beast.
• The Sky Azure Bull Python told Zhao Xuan about the Beast Deities and the distorted core region, where Zhao Xuan discovered traces of the fallen Beast Deity’s power and encountered the Black Dragon, Di Tian.
• Zhao Xuan escaped Di Tian’s Dragon King Claw through Life Lock, returned to the Azure Lake, and strengthened his lightning domain through training with Da Ming and Er Ming.
• Er Ming gave Hermione a fifty-thousand-year soul bone, which she fused and used to unleash Extreme Cold Storm before she and Zhao Xuan left the forest for Star Luo City.
• Zhao Xuan and Hermione learned that the Hundred Cities Alliance would determine the next emperor, met City Lord Luo on the road, and entered Star Luo City as spectators.
• Xue Qinghe recognized Zhao Xuan in the city, and Zhao Xuan privately explained his suspicions about Xue Qinghe to Hermione before they reunited with Zhu Zhuqing at the alliance gathering.
• Dai Haotian announced the succession contest between Dai Mubai and Dai Weisi, while Zhu Zhuqing admitted she could not bear to fight her sister, Zhu Zhuyun.

After winning Dai Mubai’s trust and learning more about the Dai family, Zhao Xuan and Hermione encountered the God of Souls on Ghost Island and gained a way to help free him. Zhao Xuan then obtained directions to the City of Slaughter, where he reunited with Tang San and Tang Hao.

• Dai Mubai defeated Dai Weisi, proposed to Zhu Zhuqing, and welcomed Zhao Xuan to Star Luo after she accepted.
• Zhao Xuan impressed the Dai family’s elders, defeated Dai Feng in a spar, and left Star Luo with Hermione after a month-long stay.
• A ship’s crew drugged passengers and took them to Ghost Island, where Zhao Xuan entered an illusory realm and confronted the God of Souls.
• The Lord of Illusory Annihilation explained how the God of Souls had been corrupted and gave Zhao Xuan the Starry Sky Construction Method in exchange for his help.
• After Hermione fought off guards in Cape City, Zhao Xuan returned with her to Star Luo and asked Dai Mubai to help locate the City of Slaughter.
