Sanguinius and Carnot entered the bridge together and walked to the hololithic strategy table.
"Father." First Company Captain Raldoron bowed, then pointed to a broad band of light on the hololith. The curve of a massive galactic arm was clearly visible.
"We're still in the Ultima Segmentum. The Logis-Engine is calculating our position and matching the star systems."
"We must prepare for the worst. I've ordered every ship to battle stations."
Carnot shook his head. "I can feel the storm weakening. The Navigators were right. They've brought us to safe harbor."
"That psychic beacon... It's even brighter than the Astronomican."
Raldoron frowned. "How could any light shine more brightly than the Emperor's?"
"Carnot is right. It's real," Sanguinius said.
Beep, beep...
Raldoron listened to the report. "Confirmed. This is Sotha, on the edge of Ultramar."
"The Auspex has picked up signals from two other Legions... the Shadow of Order and the Ultramarines."
"Nimrod and Robert?" Raldoron nodded. "I believe you'll want to see this."
He walked to the communications station. Flickering light rose abruptly and formed a resolute face.
Roboute Guilliman smiled. "Sanguinius, my brother. It's good to see you again."
He nodded firmly, as though confirming what he saw.
"Robert, it's good to be reunited." For the first time since Signus, a warm smile appeared on Sanguinius's face.
"I imagine you've heard of Horus's rebellion, and it seems you already have a plan."
"Yes. With you, Nimrod, and me together, there's no enemy we cannot defeat."
"But please understand, I can't explain everything over a hololithic transmission. We'll discuss it all on Sotha."
Sanguinius nodded. "I look forward to seeing you and Nimrod."
The hololith slowly faded, and Sanguinius gave Raldoron his order.
"Set course for Sotha!"
Scarlet and cobalt warships sailed toward one another, converging at the shining
