Nimrod's psionic projection had barely arrived on Terra when he heard Magnus's voice.

"Only by opening your eyes can you avoid being dazzled by the light."

The Primarch caught the anger in Magnus's voice.

"Look who's here." Magnus's multicolored eyes were red now, and he laughed. "Russ, I heard Nimrod knocked you out."

Russ's gaze turned fierce, shifting from Magnus to Nimrod.

His broken nose and the back of his head seemed to ache again, as though he were back on Duran.

Nimrod looked around to see how the others reacted.

Roboute Guilliman sighed softly. He hated seeing his Dreadnought brothers come into conflict.

But the outcome was hardly in doubt. As the one at the heart of it, Nimrod would surely win.

Hannibal, whose jutting cheekbones looked ready to pierce his cheeks, watched Russ with a mocking gaze.

Perturabo's ice-blue eyes were as still as a lake. He looked at Nimrod, wondering why he and Russ had clashed.

Mortarion cast Russ a gloomy glance. How foolish to turn on Nimrod instead of Magnus.

Vulkan recalled racing Nimrod on Nocturne. Nimrod had been a little weaker but far faster, and had saved him during the hunt for a Salamander.

Vulkan, who often held back his strength to avoid hurting others, could not help smiling.

Omega's gaze lingered briefly on Nimrod before moving to Magnus. His legion had heard nothing of such a secret. How had Magnus found out?

Lion El'Jonson and Jaghatai Khan studied Nimrod and Russ with the deep, appraising gazes of swordsmen.

The Lion and the Warhawk recalled Nimrod's performances on Thramas and the Rangdan homeworld. Their superhuman minds reached the expected conclusion.

Horus Lupercal and Sanguinius exchanged a glance and read the same thought in each other's eyes: only they could match Nimrod in battle.
