Nimrod's gaze was deep. As his consciousness gently merged into Melon's mind, he saw a gray forest.

The young Librarian was standing before a towering tree.

With a raise of his hand, more than a dozen branches snapped and flew up.

His Warp imagery was a forest.

Around the giant tree were many lights of different heights and brightness.

Nimrod drew closer, enlarging one of the great trees mottled with blood, gray, and black.

The trunk rapidly faded, and an illusory scene appeared:

In the dim gray woods, youths ran with all their might.

Behind them, a wolf-shaped creature, pitch-black all over and flecked with spots of blood-red, came howling like the wind.

Its tongue was long and slender, almost as long as its body.

A scarlet gleam flashed in its iron-gray eyes. Its tongue shot out, coiling around a girl who was stumbling as she ran.

With a curl of its tongue, the girl flew toward the wolf-shaped creature. As two unusually long fangs, extending past its lower jaw, opened and closed, a spray of blood mist erupted.

Nimrod immediately recognized it as the Dusky Hunter, the main material for Sequence 5, "Reaper," of the "Red Priest" pathway on the Blasphemy Slate.

He rapidly read the memories of the other Faceless Ones recruits, seeing Dusky Hunters attacking villages one after another and devouring humans.

Lecter really is a brutal world. Not only is it barren, it also has dangerous creatures like the Dusky Hunter. Still, compared with Death Worlds like Fenris, the environment is much better.

At the same time, Nimrod noticed that they had only received instruction in table manners, food preparation, and similar matters, but had not undergone the Eucharist Ritual of the "Faceless Ones":

hunting and cooking a xenos, then completing the meal according to etiquette.
