Nimrod abruptly raised his head, light and shadow flickering within his obsidian-like eyes as he looked into the void.
A blazing light shot out of the Warp, whistling through the frigid void before crashing into the Simian Field.
Boom!
The silent collision sent ripples through the void, blasting away the surrounding floating meteors.
Nimrod's gaze sharpened. He sensed a familiar presence within that shining light.
It burned as fiercely as a blazing star, yet carried flawless goodwill.
Magnus the Red.
[A fragment of Magnus's soul.] Nimrod pondered.
He remembered that after Magnus's soul shattered, its fragments would appear in many places of significance or beside people he cherished:

As Nimrod considered this, the blazing light grew ever brighter, and Magnus's soul fragment rammed into the Simian Field again and again.
Boom!
The searing arrow, carrying obsession within it, shot into the palace.
A piercing alarm sounded, echoing between layer upon layer of decks.
Nimrod raised a hand and pressed his Communication Bead, speaking over all channels.
"No enemy has infiltrated. It is merely an old acquaintance. Continue as normal."
After ending the communication, he willed the Space Apes out from the chambers to repair the damaged Simian Field.
Nimrod left his office and entered the palace, where he immediately saw a scarlet-skinned giant clad in a white robe fashioned from Aether. He gazed up at the asymmetrically hung chapter banners above, three to the left, four to the right, and five in the middle.
"I remember Perturabo frowning deeply the first time he came here. I remember him saying he would tear down your palace and build another for you."
