Qian Daoliu belongs to the Qian Family, the lineage tied to the Angel God inheritance. The Angel God position requires Innate Level 20 Soul Power, but Qian Daoliu was born at Innate Level 19; despite being the closest candidate in thousands of years, he could only become Great Enshrinement and never qualified for the divine trial 144.

He first appears as Qian Renxue’s support after her severe injury and emotional outburst during the failure of the Usurpation Plan 97. When Yue Guan is poisoned by Dugu Bo, Qian Daoliu determines that only the poisoner can cure it and orders Qian Jun and Jiang Mo to apprehend Dugu Bo 108.

After Qian Renxue is harmed by Dugu Bo, Qian Daoliu vows revenge and personally pressures Dugu Bo for the antidote to the Ice and Fire Dual Heavens poison 135 143.
