Interest in Yu Xiaowei

Yue Guan encountered Yu Xiaowei near the Star Dou Great Forest and attempted to accept him as a disciple. Yu Xiaowei refused, citing his powerful connections; after Qin Ming confirmed the boy's identity, Yue Guan withdrew rather than risk provoking those backers. He considered Yu Xiaowei an exceptionally rare talent who could at least reach Super Douluo rank under his guidance. 20 21

He later escorted Yu Xiaowei through Death Canyon, where Soul Power and Soul Skills were suppressed and survival depended on physical combat. Yu Xiaowei emerged from four months of training at level 70. 178

Spirit Hall Operations

Yue Guan visited Lanba Academy to verify intelligence concerning Tang San. By precisely regulating his Soul Power pressure, he confirmed Tang San's age, Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul, and level 31 Soul Power without killing him, ultimately forcing Tang San to reveal the Clear Sky Hammer. 70

Alongside Gui Mei, Yue Guan confronted Tang Hao, but both Titled Douluo were severely injured. They declined to investigate a subsequent explosion because of their weakened condition. 73

Yan's Interrogation and the Dugu Bo Duel

Convinced that Yan had betrayed Spirit Hall, Yue Guan imprisoned and tortured him for six months despite Yan's repeated denials. The accusation was later confirmed to have been wrongful, but Yan's resulting mental block left his Soul Power stagnant at level 51. 104 119

When Dugu Bo challenged him to their customary duel in Sunset Forest, Yue Guan assumed his old rival remained completely outmatched. He planned to bring Gui Mei and kill Dugu Bo in retaliation for the deaths of two Elder Hall members. 104

Dugu Bo's evolved Martial Soul, level 93 Soul Power, and ice-fire combat style caught Yue Guan off guard. Yue Guan was suppressed from the start, then surrounded with Gui Mei by Dugu Bo, Yu Yuanzhen, Chen Xin, and Gu Rong; the pair were subsequently beaten after lacking enough Soul Power to use their Martial Soul Fusion Skill. 105 106

Poisoned during the conflict, Yue Guan sought Qian Daoliu's help. Qian Daoliu could not cure the poison directly, but Yue Guan's continued loyalty earned the Great Worship Elder's trust and prompted an order to apprehend Dugu Bo. 108

Pressure on the Agility Clan

Qian Daoliu later revealed that he was allied with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Family and assigned Yue Guan to pressure Bai He into surrendering the Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng. Yue Guan was instructed to intimidate the Agility Clan rather than openly use force. 154

Under Yu Xiaowei's orders, Yue Guan escalated the pressure by causing the Agility Clan to lose employment and academy access, hoping to force Bai He's submission. 156

He also worked with the individual posing as “Tang San” to obtain the Agility Clan's treasure. When the scheme was exposed, Yue Guan openly confirmed their alliance and fought the four clan heads. His Soul Power overwhelmed the combined pressure of four Soul Douluo; however, Yang Wudi exploited a momentary lapse caused by Yu Xiaowei's interruption to land a damaging sneak attack. 162 163

Later Reflection

After witnessing Yu Xiaowei's rise from a Soul Elder to a combatant beyond his own level, Yue Guan reflected that leaving Spirit Hall may have been the correct choice. He believed that even fighting together with Gui Mei, they might no longer be able to defeat Yu Xiaowei. 184

Personality

Yue Guan is calculating and observant in matters of talent and combat. His assessment of Yu Xiaowei's potential, as well as his measured pressure test of Tang San, shows careful control rather than indiscriminate use of force. 21 70

He is also arrogant toward familiar opponents, particularly Dugu Bo, whose poison and fighting style he believed he had completely countered. This confidence led him to underestimate Dugu Bo's evolution and enter their rematch unprepared for a fundamentally different opponent. 104 105
