[Morning of the sixth day on Longevity Island, unknown Pyramid region]
Bang!
Mi Yao's Game Console screen flashed red as a mass of green pixel blocks exploded before him, transforming into game items like barricades, iron nets, and energy barriers.
These gamified items layered around him, shielding him within.
Yet despite all these preparations, the bizarre dark-purple vines smashed through those game items in an extremely short time.
Seeing this, Mi Yao's expression grew grave. Under the strain of the intense battle, his arms began to tremble uncontrollably.
Red marks had been rubbed onto his palms by the Game Console casing. Sweat ran down his cheeks and dripped onto the screen, spreading into small wet stains.
Unlike the "vine tentacles" they had encountered elsewhere before, the vines before him were as thick as buckets, their skin gleaming with a metallic luster and covered in pale golden patterns.
And the changes in these vines were not merely superficial. Something within them had undergone a qualitative transformation as well.
When he had struck one with a pixel War Hammer, he had only left a faint white mark on its surface. Worse, the War Hammer itself had been drained of some of its energy by the vine, becoming flickering and insubstantial.
This meant that not only were these vines incredibly tough, but they could also absorb the Star Energy of whoever attacked them in return.
They were utterly disgusting.
Fortunately, the one silver lining amid the misfortune was that the vines' primary targets were not them, positioned outside the Pyramid, but Tiandao standing atop it, along with the others who had entered its interior.
Although Mi Yao could not see what was happening inside the Pyramid, he could vaguely sense scorching flames erupting from within from time to time, as well as powerful,
