Night fell.

An expected guest appeared in Roland's study.

Accentuated by a water-blue, cinched-waist gown, Felicia's tall figure was displayed almost perfectly. Her skin was fair and supple as water, her features exquisite, and her long lashes cast faint shadows across her porcelain-white cheeks.

Though her brows were slightly furrowed, it did nothing to diminish her beauty. Instead, it added a trace of fragility that made others unable to resist feeling pity for her.

"Priestess Felicia, please, have a seat."

Roland was not at all surprised by Felicia's arrival.

Though most of Roland's clashes with Reff and Leslie during today's assembly had taken place in secret, making the scene appear calm on the surface, someone as perceptive as her could not possibly have failed to notice.

Felicia nodded slightly and slowly sat down on the sofa.

"Wine? Tea? Or juice? Water?" Roland rose and walked over to the wine cabinet, asking casually.

After a moment of silence, Felicia replied softly, "Wine."

Roland raised a brow in surprise. After knowing her for so long, this was the first time he had seen Felicia drink.

However, he said nothing. He took out two glasses, poured some low-proof sweet wine, and set one before Felicia.

What surprised Roland even more was that before he could sit down, Felicia picked up the glass and drained it in one gulp. She moistened her red lips, then held the empty glass straight out toward Roland.

Am I the king here, or are you? It seemed Reff was right today. Your Merfolk race really needed to be put in its place.

Roland's lips twitched as he turned around and poured Felicia another glass.
