Defining Characteristics
| Component | Role |
|---|---|
| Origin Great Dao | The core foundation of a Great Thousand World. It transcends Laws and ordinary worlds, and its quantity determines much of a world's power and value 49 433. |
| Taiji / Heavenly Dao | Born from the Great Dao; governs and manages the world after its formation 433 439. |
| Youji / World Origin | Born alongside the Heavenly Dao; supplies the energy that forms matter, sustains Laws, and keeps the world operating 49 433. |
| Complete Origin Great Daos | A Great Thousand World possesses at least one complete Origin Great Dao. A newly created world commonly begins with only one 436 437. |
| World Coordinate | A fixed node in the Sea of Chaos, anchored by the Origin Great Dao at the moment of the world's creation 460 461. |
The Great Dao is above both Laws and worlds. While Laws establish a world's rules, World Origin provides the energy required to form matter and maintain those rules 49.
Taiji and Youji can be lost, but the world can be re-established as long as its Origin Great Dao remains. A Great Dao Realm expert may therefore sacrifice a world they created without losing the underlying Dao itself 433.
Position Among the Three Thousand Worlds
| World Class | Relation to the Great Dao | Position in the Sea of Chaos |
|---|---|---|
| Small Thousand World | Does not possess Origin Great Dao; its inhabitants cannot comprehend what the world fundamentally lacks 444. | Drifts through the Sea of Chaos without a Great Dao anchor 460. |
| Middle Thousand World | May accumulate sufficient foundation to form a Nascent Great Dao and seek promotion, but its World Origin cannot become Great Thousand World Origin through quantity alone 165 526. | Also drifts rather than remaining fixed at a node 460. |
| Great Thousand World | Founded on complete Origin Great Dao(s); its inhabitants can pursue Great Dao attainment at the Thirtieth Order 433. | Anchored permanently to a specific coordinate by its Origin Great Dao 460 461. |
Great Thousand World Origin, Middle Thousand World Origin, and Small Thousand World Origin are treated as fundamentally separate types. Even immense amounts of lower-world origin cannot undergo a qualitative transformation into Great Thousand World Origin 526.
Creation, Evolution, and Transcendence
Creation
A Thirtieth Order Great Dao Realm expert who controls one Origin Great Dao can create a Great Thousand World carrying that Dao. Such a world ordinarily begins with one complete Origin Great Dao and requires time to accumulate World Origin 437 438.
The Primordial World is an exceptional case: Pangu created it with the contributions of the Three Thousand Chaos Demon Gods, leaving it with forty-nine complete Origin Great Daos and all incomplete Great Daos 436 490.
Promotion from a Middle Thousand World
A Middle Thousand World may advance only after acquiring an immense foundation. One documented world rose to Great Thousand World status after a World Tree seed took root, absorbed World Origin, and strengthened its Heavenly Dao 326.
| Advancement | Requirement / Means | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Middle Thousand World → Great Thousand World | Formation of a complete Origin Great Dao; the World Tree accelerated this process in one known case 165 326. | The world becomes anchored in the Sea of Chaos and gains Great Dao-level status 460. |
| Great Thousand World → Lesser Heaven | A World Tree may evolve a Great Thousand World into a Lesser Heaven 326. | A higher stage beyond an ordinary Great Thousand World. |
| Lesser Heaven → Greater Heaven | Further opportunities may permit continued evolution 326. | A Greater Heaven may potentially transcend. |
Ultimate Goal
A Great Thousand World's first major goal is to possess all complete Great Daos. Even this initial step is described as nearly impossible for most worlds; true transcendence beyond the myriad worlds is more difficult still 531 541.
Power and Cultivation
The inhabitants of a Great Thousand World seek to attain the Great Dao, meaning advancement to the Thirtieth Order 433. Cultivation methods reach their practical endpoint at the Twenty-sixth Order, after which the path requires comprehension and control of an Origin Great Dao 490 560.
Each Great Thousand World has its own cultivation system, or Dao path. These paths differ in structure, but all converge upon the Twenty-sixth Order and the pursuit of the Origin Great Dao 560.
- A cultivation system is stronger when it contains the Dao charm of more complete Origin Great Daos 490.
- Cultivating a foreign Great Thousand World's system creates karma with that world's Heavenly Dao 492 561.
- The Primordial World's Origin Immortal Dao System is considered top-tier because it incorporates the Dao charm of forty-nine complete Great Daos, as well as incomplete Great Daos 490 560.
- Some Great Thousand Worlds restrict Thirtieth Order beings from leaving, both to prevent the loss of their investment and to keep their coordinates from being exposed 358.
- The Shanhai World is unusual in allowing its inhabitants to attain the Dao and leave the world 541.
Coordinates and Exposure
A Great Thousand World is difficult to locate because it possesses Great Dao-level power capable of concealing itself from searches of the same level 432. However, its fixed coordinate may be exposed through the aura of a Dao Prover or an item carrying that world's Origin Great Dao 440 451.
- A Dao Prover bears an inseverable imprint of their home world's Origin Great Dao 440 451.
- Encountering such a being can reveal the coordinate of their world, effectively exposing its location in the Sea of Chaos 451.
- Lower-level karmic information can be shielded or severed by Great Dao-level power, but the deepest Great Dao imprint cannot be removed unless one side completely perishes 460 451.
- Top-tier worlds are safer from exposure because most Thirtieth Order beings cannot challenge them directly 440 451.
Control and Alteration
Suppressing a world's Origin Great Dao grants control over the Great Thousand World and permits fundamental alterations, including changing its name or cultivation system 433.
Bai Yu's conquest of the Godsveit World demonstrates this process:
- He used Myriad Worlds City and the Space-Time Great Dao to suppress the world and gather its divided world authority 223.
- He extracted ninety percent of its World Origin while keeping the world operational, then installed a Law Dao Body as its Heavenly Dao 223 224.
- He renamed it the Limitless World, replacing its Western fantasy magic system with Immortal Path Spiritual Energy 224.
- The former Divine Realm became the Immortal Realm, its Supreme God Realm became Great Luo Heaven, and its place of reincarnation became an Underworld with Six Paths of Reincarnation 224.
Great Thousand Worlds are substantially more resilient than lower worlds. Provided enough World Origin remains for basic operation, a Great Thousand World can remain stable after losing ninety percent of its origin; Small and Middle Thousand Worlds may descend into chaos after losing more than half 224.
Destruction and Rebirth
A destroyed Great Thousand World may leave behind a fragment of its world core, known as a Seed of Great Dao. One such fragment became a System that traveled between worlds, stealing Law origins and World Origin to nourish itself 49.
Its intended cycle was:
- Nourish the Seed of Great Dao with stolen origins.
- Mature the Seed into a complete Origin Great Dao.
- Recreate the destroyed Great Thousand World.
- Produce a new Heavenly Dao and World Origin through the world's rebirth 49.
Great Thousand Worlds can also be reduced directly into treasures. Bai Yu refined an ancient three-Dao world containing the Wood, Fire, and Earth Daos into the Azure Flame Earthen Banner, an Innate Supreme Treasure with three complete Great Daos 453 454.
