Background / History

Hongjun is a reincarnated Chaos Demon God whose foundation places him above ordinary Innate Divine Beings, including the Three Pure Ones. However, he is not among the strongest Chaos Demon Gods; the Jade Plate of Creation and the Primordial Heavenly Dao's favor became central to his rise. His own accompanying treasure was only a high-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure, so he chose the Jade Plate of Creation as his Dao-proving treasure instead. 347 568

The Primordial Heavenly Dao secretly arranged much of Hongjun's path, including granting him the core fragment of the Jade Plate of Creation, the Pangu Banner, and nine strands of Purple Qi of Hongmeng within the plate. Hongjun initially believed these were personal fortuitous encounters, but later realized that he had been assigned the role of the Heavenly Dao's protagonist and future spokesperson. 475 515 607

In the Lotus Lantern World, Hongjun had merged with the Heavenly Dao. When Bai Yu's concealed Yin Yang Origin Law affected the Three Realms, Hongjun detected only an unexplained disturbance and could not identify its source. 12 He later confronted Bai Yu over five Innate Spiritual Roots, mobilizing the world's Origin Laws into a Purple Qi River with the Jade Plate of Creation's support. Bai Yu's power overwhelmed him and severed the world's Heavenly Dao. 14 15

Bai Yu subsequently gave Hongjun a complete Origin Law of Destiny. Rather than using it solely to repair the wounded Heavenly Dao, Hongjun claimed it for himself, seized world authority, and began trying to refine the Heavenly Dao into his own possession. His ultimate goal was to become World Master and elevate the Lotus Lantern World into a Great Thousand World. 125 367

Personality

Hongjun is cautious, calculating, and highly conscious of the value of information. He conceals powerful treasures to avoid attracting hostility, prefers testing an opponent before committing to battle, and is willing to sacrifice valuable resources if doing so improves his odds of enlightenment. 485 609

He is also socially adept. Before the Dao-Demon Conflict, he built goodwill among Innate Divine Demons through discussions of the Great Dao, using the Jade Plate of Creation's enlightenment benefits to establish an exceptionally strong reputation and secure potential allies against Luohu. 608

His initially upright image conceals considerable ambition. In the Lotus Lantern World, he sought not merely freedom from the Heavenly Dao but complete ownership of it and dominion over the world. Lotus Lantern World Authority Struggle

Hongjun sensed Bai Yu's interference in the Three Realms, unsuccessfully opposed him over the five Innate Spiritual Roots, and received the Origin Law of Destiny after the Heavenly Dao was severed. He used that Law to seize authority from the weakened Heavenly Dao and pursue full control of the world. 12 14 125

While Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao fought over authority, Primordial Lord of Heaven secretly siphoned World Origin. Hongjun knew of the theft but delayed intervention to avoid jeopardizing the refinement process; Yuanshi eventually stole seventy percent of the world's World Origin and escaped to Myriad Worlds City. 137 152 154

Hongjun ultimately refined the Heavenly Dao, but the loss of World Origin prevented the Lotus Lantern World's advancement and left him purposeless. When Yuanshi returned, their conflict escalated into a direct confrontation. 368 373

Battle with Primordial Lord of Heaven

Hongjun's Three Corpses lost to Yuanshi's Seventeenth-Order Three Corpses, forcing him to personally deploy the Purple Qi River and Heavenly Dao Dharma Wheel. Their battle lasted a hundred years in stalemate; Hongjun could not press the conflict without risking destruction of the Lotus Lantern World. 372 374

After Yuanshi used the Myriad Worlds Token to leave and return freely despite Hongjun's world blockade, Hongjun brought the five Saints to Purple Heaven Palace for negotiations. He feigned ignorance of Myriad Worlds City even though he had learned of it by tracing the River of Time. 375 377

Dao-Demon Conflict

In the Primordial World, Hongjun's Great Dao comprehension stalled at 99%. The Heavenly Dao then gave him the script for the Dao-Demon Conflict, revealing that his path and treasures had been arranged and that Luohu had become his unavoidable life-and-death rival. 606 607

Hongjun investigated Luohu through his Three Corpses, cultivated alliances among Innate Divine Demons, and promised use of the Jade Plate of Creation to recruit Yang Mei, Ancestor Yin Yang, and Old Ancestor Qiankun. 608 611 613

He sent his Evil Corpse to test the Immortal Slaying Sword Formation, losing both the corpse and a Top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure but learning the formation's workings.
