Background / History

Si Nan's grandfather was an ordinary merchant who was beaten to death after someone disliked the goods he sold. When Si Nan's family appealed to the authorities, only his mother returned; she had lost her sanity and later died by suicide. Si Nan joined the Brocade Guard hoping to take revenge, but learned that the family connected to his enemy had a Grandmaster protector, making revenge seem impossible. 23

Before Ye Liuyun's arrival, Si Nan was a Brocade Guard Squad Leader whose cultivation and influence were limited. When Ye Liuyun began impersonating Ye Liufeng, Si Nan discovered the secret; Ye secured his silence with a hundred-tael silver note and an implicit threat. Si Nan accepted the arrangement and became one of Ye Liuyun's most dependable followers. 5
