80. I want Hansen dead by tomorrow.

For Biotechnica, what kind of test subject counted as a successful one?

Carl found the answer when he saw that dodo.

Watching the creature forage on the other side of a pane of glass, in an enclosure the size of a classroom, its fat body swaying as it walked, Carl could not help opening his mouth wide.

Didn't this thing just look like a fat chicken?

Its wings were tiny, its body plump, its beak curved, and it waddled along at a leisurely pace.

Carl searched his memories for things that resembled it. Other than a fat chicken, only penguins came to mind.

Then he remembered something he had learned before: a dodo's tiny wings could not possibly lift its body into the air. Like a penguin's, those wings were merely tools for maintaining balance. A successful test subject was a living creature. It sounded a little strange, but that was the truth.

It was not a bionic animal, nor was it some mechanical organism that could only imitate an animal through mechanical structures. It was a genuine, moving, living creature.

"Biotechnica is fucking amazing."

Watching the lifelike dodo, Jack could not help sighing. "Looking at it, it really does seem like an actual animal moving around."

"There are no mechanical or cybernetic components installed. It is purely biological in structure. Other than its
