Background / History

Naruto grows up isolated in Konoha under constant ANBU surveillance. Villagers openly call him a monster, refuse to sell him food, and ostracize him from ordinary social life 37 48. Despite this neglect, he remains resilient, spending his free time catching fish, playing alone, and eventually training by himself to surpass Sasuke 54.

Kushina first appears within Naruto's consciousness under the name “Uzumaki.” Naruto is elated to learn that he has a surviving clansman and no longer feels completely alone 49. She guides him to question the Third Hokage's treatment of him, helps him retaliate against people who abuse him, and encourages him to build healthier habits through training and cooking 49 54 55.
