"What kind of person is Vasily?"
Boluoke asked.
Sitting across from him was a well-dressed young lady. She wore a black fur coat, with a soft pink long-sleeved blouse underneath, and a thin gold necklace around her fair neck.
This woman, named Yan Jing, was the daughter of the owner of a major trade firm in Crystal City, and was currently vacationing in Yao City.
It had taken Boluoke quite a bit of effort to find this chance to meet her.
Yan Jing gently stirred the tea in her cup with a silver spoon, as if recalling something. A somewhat puzzled, almost uncertain expression appeared on her young, smooth face, and her lips pressed together slightly despite herself.
This beauty was Vasily's former lover.
Yan Jing said, "You're a Werewolf, right? Do you work for the Detective Bureau?"
"No, I'm not a Werewolf, and I'm not an agent of the Detective Bureau either."
Boluoke had grown used to this sort of question. He clarified to her, "I'm an Orc from Continent Island, a private detective."
"An Orc... canine?" Yan Jing looked enlightened. "Why are you asking about Vasily? What happened to him?"
"I was hired by a client to look for Mr. Vasily. Because Mr. Vasily has been out of contact for a long time, I made inquiries and eventually found my way to you, Miss Yan Jing."
"Can you tell me who hired you?"
"That concerns my client's privacy, so I can't say."
"Then can you tell me whether it was a man or a woman?"
"Sorry."
Yan Jing seemed to realize this was a little impolite, so she changed the subject. "I didn't mean anything else. I just haven't contacted him in a very long time. I don't know how he's doing now. Is he married?"
"Not that
