Background

Qian Daoliu served as Martial Soul Hall's Great Worship and a servant of the Angel God. His position bound him to the Angel God's inheritance: he believed he could not obtain godhood himself and was destined to sacrifice his life for the deity's inheritor. 72

He was one of the two great pillars of the previous generation of Soul Masters alongside Tang Chen. Their battle more than thirty years earlier was remembered as the continent's last confrontation between experts of their caliber. 13

Qian Daoliu also had a history with Chen Xun's family. Chen Jianjun challenged him to seek a higher realm of swordsmanship, accepted the outcome of their spar, and later died from his injuries without resentment. 3 15

Personality

Qian Daoliu is composed and measured even when Martial Soul Hall is provoked. When Demon Subduing Douluo and Thousand Jun Douluo sought another confrontation while injured, he refused to risk them against an unknown opponent. 8

His long-standing faith in the Angel God initially defined his worldview and fighting style. Chen Xun's victory, achieved by overcoming Angel God's borrowed power with a self-created sword path, forced Qian Daoliu to confront the limits of relying on external divinity. Rather than react with anger, he acknowledged Chen Xun's argument and began reconsidering his own path. 17 18

He is deeply protective of Qian Renxue. When her identity risked exposure, he was prepared to abandon Martial Soul Hall's Soul Hunting Plan rather than endanger her. 62
