You Are the Strongest

Everyone was still on edge that night, either from being overly startled or from worrying if the Black King would return. Despite feeling utterly exhausted, none of them managed to sleep well.

Not only could they not fall asleep, but even when they finally did, they would jolt awake multiple times, with the slightest sound or movement making their bodies tense up.

They were trapped in a state of tension.

This night was destined to be a restless one for everyone.

The scenes of the Black King leading a brutal massacre at the CIA base had left a deep psychological scar on them all.

Rorschach was also awake, not because he was disturbed or scared like the others, but quite the opposite – he was excited.

Rorschach couldn't wait to try out his heat vision!

"At this hour, everyone must be asleep by now," Rorschach thought to himself. Unable to contain his urge any longer, he threw off his covers and got out of bed.

He planned to find a spot in the yard to test it out.

Charles's yard was large enough for Rorschach to unleash his power, as long as he was careful not to damage the plants.

Creak...

Fearing he might disturb others, Rorschach opened the door quietly, almost tiptoeing.

As soon as he stepped out, a surprised voice called out, "Rorschach?"

Rorschach turned his head, also surprised. "Raven?"

He saw Mystique wearing a bathrobe. Though loose, it still accentuated her curvaceous figure.

Notably, Mystique wasn't in her human disguise at this moment. Her natural blue skin with its distinctive patterns was visible.

It was clear Mystique had shed her disguise while sleeping.

Like everyone else, she couldn't sleep and had decided to get something to drink, not expecting to run into Rorschach.

"Can't sleep?"

Raven blinked in surprise, then naturally greeted Rorschach and walked towards him.

Rorschach inwardly regretted his stealth, thinking he should have used his super-hearing to check his surroundings before sneaking out in the future.

This would have avoided such an awkward encounter.

"Aren't you either?"

While thinking this, Rorschach smiled at Raven outwardly, remaining composed.

"What happened today, everyone is very scared," Raven said as she got closer, stopping face-to-face with Rorschach.

Rorschach could clearly feel her breath and smell her perfume.

"But... you're not," Raven looked up, her gaze towards Rorschach carrying a hint of playful teasing.

"Since no one can sleep, maybe we can go to your room. You can tell me why you're so brave."

Is this woman hitting on me? Rorschach thought, speechless.

He knew Western women were open-minded, but this was his first real experience. If it were an ordinary woman, he wouldn't have minded if something happened.

However, Mystique's current appearance, while not ugly, was outside of Rorschach's aesthetic preferences.

"Raven, I'm not sleeping because I have something to do," Rorschach said earnestly, looking at Mystique.

"Is it because of my appearance?" Mystique seemed a little dejected, thinking Rorschach had rejected her.

Then, with a thought, her body rippled, and she transformed back into her cousin's appearance.

"Is this better?"

It's exactly the same! Rorschach grumbled inwardly.

It was like a blind date; if you've seen the person's real face, what's the point if they use Photoshop to make their picture look better?

"Raven, look me in the eyes," Rorschach suddenly said to Mystique.

Raven thought Rorschach was about to say something affectionate, wondering why he needed her to look him in the eyes.

But in the next second, she saw Rorschach's eyes turn crimson.

"Rorschach!"

Raven flinched, her earlier playful thoughts vanishing, replaced by astonishment.

"See? I think I've awakened a new ability, and I want to test it out," Rorschach explained seriously to Raven.

Raven then realized that Rorschach wasn't just making excuses to brush her off; he genuinely had something to do.

"Raven, I want to see what this ability is all about. Can you take me somewhere suitable?"

Rorschach made his request to Raven.

His heat vision wasn't exactly a shameful secret, so he wasn't afraid to show it to Mystique.

"Of course, no problem."

"It's best to find an open place with a bit more space."

"Rorschach, Charles's house has everything except a lack of space."

Raven eventually led Rorschach to the playground within Charles's yard. Yes, you read that right, Charles's yard actually had a playground, can you believe it?

This space was more than enough.

Rorschach took a deep breath, and the energy within him began to converge towards his eyes, condensing into two intense beams of light.

Screech!

Two beams of heat vision shot out from Rorschach's eyes.

"Oh, my god!"

Raven couldn't help but cover her mouth and exclaim. Even though she was a mutant, the sight of lasers shooting from eyes was incredibly impactful for her.

Even without personally testing the intensity of the beams, just feeling the energy radiating from them, Raven could sense the immense power contained within.

Screech, screech!

The two beams illuminated the night sky like two glaring pillars, dazzling and magnificent.

In Rorschach's eyes at that moment, they were the most beautiful beams in the world.

It was just a pity that the heat vision could only last for five seconds; any longer and his eyes couldn't handle it.

But considering his current progress was only 5% unlocked, Rorschach felt at ease again. Five seconds was just the beginning, nothing more!

Next, Rorschach found some rocks to test it on.

Hard stones were like paper in front of the heat vision, so fragile and weak. Rorschach could easily shatter them into dust.

"Not bad, heat vision will be an important trump card for me!"

Rorschach was quite satisfied with this.

"Rorschach, you've gotten stronger again. You're the strongest among all of us now," Raven said with great emotion from the side.

Before, everyone had actually been quite optimistic about Alex's potential, especially given how powerful his energy rings were.

Even Rorschach wouldn't dare to face him easily.

But now, Rorschach also had an offensive ability that could rival him.

Furthermore, Charles's powers were completely ineffective against Rorschach, so there was no longer any doubt about Rorschach being the strongest.
