Isshiki was a member of the Ōtsutsuki clan’s Ten Divine Generals of Takamagahara. Although his qualification as a “god” was considered mediocre, he lived longer than most of his peers and reached the third position among the Generals. He possessed the Black Eye, the same Divine Technique associated with the clan’s former Overgod, Shibai Ōtsutsuki. 86 185

Kaguya was assigned to Isshiki as a subordinate when she was sent to Kengetsu Province. Isshiki’s age, status, and confidence caused him to disregard her, eventually provoking Kaguya into betraying and attacking him. 185 He later remained dormant in the ninja world, where his existence became connected to Jigen and the Kara Organization. 9 108

When Jigen’s vessel began to fail, Isshiki fought Naruto and Sasuke while using the vessel’s final moments to study their newly acquired powers. He selected Sasuke as his first target because of his killing intent, strategic awareness, and Rinnegan. Once Jigen’s body collapsed, Isshiki fully reincarnated. 197

Naruto and Sasuke temporarily overwhelmed the reincarnated Isshiki through complementary techniques. Isshiki survived, escaped, and pursued the Ten-Tails. Rather than preserve his remaining immortality, he sacrificed Code and fused directly with the Ten-Tails, creating his Ultimate form. 199 200

Ultimate Isshiki later fought Uchiha Chen, using Daikokuten, Sukuna-Hikona, the Tenseigan, Wood Release, and gravitational attacks. Isshiki’s power was ultimately inherited through Kawaki’s Karma. Kawaki initially possessed Isshiki’s techniques without his combat experience, but eventually reached Ultimate Isshiki-level potential after fully unsealing the Karma. 339 375 Isshiki himself was later killed by Chen. 392

Appearance

Isshiki’s Ultimate form wears a white, long-sleeved robe covered with tomoe and surrounded by white chakra flames. His body is enhanced by the Ten-Tails’ cells and possesses a large, regenerated horn.

Despite his pride, Isshiki is not careless. He analyzes unfamiliar abilities before committing to a battle, deliberately used Jigen’s collapsing body to study Naruto and Sasuke, and changed targets when Sasuke’s Heavenly Hand proved difficult to overcome. 197 198

He treats allies and subordinates according to their usefulness. Isshiki manipulated Code’s devotion into a willing sacrifice, kept Amado alive because the scientist still had strategic value, and regarded Kawaki primarily as a vessel for his reincarnation. 200

Isshiki also adapts rapidly in combat. Against Chen, he abandoned ineffective attacks, combined shrinking and storage techniques, and used the Tenseigan’s perception to defend against Divine Pursuit. 245
