A Xing led a two-person Source Mage squad with A Wang before Su Hao joined under the name A Yang. The group renamed itself the Yang Star Gazing Squad to include its new member, and A Xing began teaching him the basics of drawing and using Source. 518 519

As the squad took on disaster-relief missions across the Hengxuan District, it expanded to include A Shan and A Feng, becoming the Wind Mountain Sun Gazing Squad. A Xing later chose to divide the team into two groups so its members could gain independent experience. 554 558

The squad's growing reputation earned it the name Lucky Star Squad. Though proud of this recognition, A Xing supported the collective decision to refuse Prince Luo's invitation to join the Hengxuan Royal Clan, while remaining open to cooperation for access to Source-related knowledge. 560
