Background

Sasuke met Naruto as an infant when the Uzumaki family visited the Uchiha Clan Compound. Naruto immediately regarded the encounter as the start of a grudge, while their families expected the two boys to become friends. 7

During their Academy years, Sasuke repeatedly sparred with Naruto and developed a fierce rivalry with him. After Naruto surprised him with the Leaf Whirlwind, Sasuke resolved to learn ninjutsu from Itachi so he could defeat Naruto. 19
