The Avengers had encountered a mysterious psychic scan in the Deep-Sea Great Prison beneath the Pacific Ocean. After finding nothing, they had no choice but to split up.
Tony Stark, T'Challa, and Bruce Banner began searching for the direction of the psychic scan from their respective locations.
Meanwhile, Steve Rogers, Hawkeye, Natasha, and the others returned to S.H.I.E.L.D. and began mobilizing its resources to search from land, sea, and air for the psychic scan that had swept across the globe.
Vaguely, they felt as though Earth were shrouded in fog. An inexplicable, threatening crisis seemed ready to erupt beside them at any moment, leaving them uneasy.
Yet no matter how the Avengers searched, they could not find the slightest clue, casting an even darker shadow over their hearts.
Tony Stark was certain that the psychic scan matched part of the Mind Scepter's psychic frequency. Some of its frequencies were identical to the psychic frequency data He-El had given him. There might also have been deeper frequencies of the Mind Scepter that Tony Stark had never encountered before, so they were not in JARVIS's Mind Scepter countermeasure database.
The Mind Scepter was currently in Nick Fury's hands. Was this psychic search wave looking for the Mind Scepter, or had it been emitted by the Mind Scepter itself?
