Star-Lord Peter Quill, along with his Guardians of the Galaxy companions, the cosmic pirates and mercenaries he had brought, and the support ships from friendly cosmic forces, watched the projection of Thanos's fleet over the square. He planted one foot on a raised ornamental rock and declared proudly, head held high.
"You deal with Thanos's mothership. We have to bring it down." Stephen Strange turned to Star-Lord Peter Quill.
Thor, Loki, Bruce Banner, Wong, the Kamar-Taj sorcerers, and the Asgard warriors all turned to look at Star-Lord Peter Quill.
Star-Lord Peter Quill immediately felt the pressure, his throat tightening.
"Of course not. Thanos's mothership has ridiculously thick armor and shields. The destroyers and scout ships around it outnumber the hairs on Quill's body. We don't have the firepower or speed to get close enough to punch through it. Getting crushed by Thanos, now that's the reality." With his gun slung over his shoulder, Rocket Raccoon took one look at the mothership's exterior and roughly gauged its strength.
On top of that, huge numbers of warships surrounded Thanos's mothership. They could not break through.
"I'll do it. I'll break through Thanos's mothership directly and destroy its engines." Captain Marvel Carol Danvers, glowing all over, flew in from the skies above the Himalayas and slowly landed before them.
Recently, she had been trying to verify the information Nick Fury had left her.
But she had found no evidence proving that Nick Fury's message to her was correct.
In other words, there was a very real possibility that someone had fabricated it.
Nor had she blindly believed what the Avengers said.
Naturally, she would verify it herself.
But Thanos attacking Earth was a fact, and she had to protect it.
