At the former site of the Super Technology Building, now resembling ruins, a massive pit five hundred meters across and twenty meters deep had been blasted open. Alarms blared everywhere as fire-suppression columns sprayed white torrents of water, dampening the cracked ground before the water seeped into the gaps of the clogged drains.
Sensing that the unknown gaze watching him from somewhere had vanished, He-El let out a breath of relief inside the Atomic Armor.
At the instant he defeated the Destroyer, a gaze that seemed almost tangible had looked down from above, making He-El feel as though needles were pricking his back. His vigilance rose sharply.

He-El's heart tightened slightly.
At this stage, it was hardly a good thing for any god or alien in this world to take notice of him.
To avoid drawing extraterrestrial attention, after defeating Loki, He-El had not remained in New Mexico. Instead, he had gone straight to New York and begun manufacturing weapons to protect himself.
