Funeral and Its Aftermath

The sky over Washington was somewhat overcast that day.

At noon, the funeral procession escorted the coffin by car from the White House to the Capitol Building.

People spontaneously dressed in black and stood silently along both sides of the road, holding flowers. Once the vehicles escorting the coffin arrived at the Capitol Building, the silent crowd began to move, placing their flowers one by one against the outer walls of the Capitol Building.

After the coffin arrived at the Capitol Building, sentries from the three branches of the military took their positions along the security perimeter to receive the funeral procession.

The band began to play solemn funeral music and sacred hymns.

Once the body had been laid in state, the honor guards from the three branches stood rigidly around it. People began filing past the body to bid their final farewells.

Dressed in a proper black suit, He-El followed the crowd to take one last look at the president. He placed his flowers beneath the coffin, then moved along with the flow of people, briefly greeting Tony Stark and several other key figures before gradually leaving the Capitol Building.

The weather was gloomy, and the atmosphere was somber. When people saw He-El emerge, they did not dare call out loudly to him and disrupt that grave mood.

He-El got into a black sedan among the convoy parked by the roadside. Nick Fury had viewed the body earlier and was waiting for He-El inside.

"You okay?" He-El asked as he sat in the backseat beside Nick Fury.

The convoy silently started up and departed from the solemn atmosphere surrounding the Capitol Building.
