"Mother! Mother!"

Odin flew into the sky, chasing after He-El. Thor pulled his gaze back from his father's retreating figure and looked at his mother lying on the ground. Panic tightening in his chest, he rushed over and quickly pressed his fingers to her carotid artery. Feeling her pulse still beating, he finally let out a huge sigh of relief.

At least, at least that devastating outcome had not happened.

Thor gratefully cradled his mother's head, brushing shattered stones from her clothes as he softly called to her.

But Frigga's injuries were severe. She would not wake simply because Thor called her a few times. He could only hold her tightly, tears glimmering faintly in his eyes as he stroked and kissed her hair and face.

Suddenly, Thor seemed to catch a glimpse of a green figure flashing past a corner of a distant wall. But when he looked carefully, there was nothing there.

That figure had looked like his brother Loki.

The Dark Elves had sent people to break through from inside Asgard's Jail, and several prisoners had rampaged out. Loki had originally been imprisoned there, so Thor was not surprised that he had escaped.

Loki bore some resentment toward his father, Odin. He resented Odin for bringing him from Jotunheim to Asgard and for saying, when Loki and Thor were young, that one of them would inherit the position of King of Gods after they grew up.

It was because Loki had heard Odin say that on that day that he had ended up being imprisoned.

But after everything that had happened, no matter what, Frigga, as Loki's adoptive mother, had never mistreated him. Her love for Loki had not been any less than her love for Thor.
