Background
Wu Tong was a shut-in from Earth before being killed in a truck accident and transmigrating to the Douluo Continent. Arriving in Pan Rock Village without an external “cheat,” he chose to depend on imagination, study, and determination rather than accept an ordinary life. 1
His Martial Soul awakened as the Brain, a rare Body Martial Soul that improved his reasoning and memory. He entered a soul master academy intending to use its library to build a foundation in martial soul theory and eventually secure protection from a major faction. 3 4
Wu Tong’s first major hunt yielded the Mind's Eye Golden Fox Spirit Ring and the Mind's Eye external soul bone. Its perception abilities enabled him to observe Tang San’s internal energy circulation and record the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, which Wu Tong subsequently altered to fit his own body. 11 14
His research into compatible Spirit Ring selection and Martial Soul Evolution Theory brought him continent-wide attention. After surviving repeated assassination attempts while travelling to Heaven Dou City, he accepted Qian Renxue’s recruitment and became an Esteemed Guest of the Crown Prince Residence, residing at Wutong Courtyard. 20 21
Appearance
Wu Tong is a tall, black-haired young man whose body became noticeably stronger after his first Spirit Ring absorption. Later descriptions portray him as handsome, bronze-skinned, and leanly muscular rather than bulky. 11 20 133
- Black hair. 20
- Recorded at 180 cm tall, 120 weight units, with 5.3 vision and healthy physical condition. 37
- Developed a taller, more muscular physique after absorbing the Mind's Eye Golden Fox Spirit Ring. 11
- Wears a dark-blue Shenzhou-style ancient long robe on at least one occasion. 108
- Has a Mind's Eye Golden Fox pattern at the center of his brow. 11
Personality
Wu Tong is intellectually driven, cautious, and intensely pragmatic. His lack of social experience as a former shut-in made him wary of other people’s motives; obtaining Direct Sense and All-Encompassing View relieved his fear of being deceived by major factions. 12
He approaches cultivation as research: gathering data, testing theories, identifying flaws in borrowed methods, and revising them for his own body. He deliberately built public reputation, political protection, and a network of allies because raw potential alone could not keep him safe. 14 21
His compassion is selective. Wu Tong relocates Pan Rock Village, offers alternate cultivation systems to childhood friends, and seeks to strengthen the Douluo World’s population. Conversely, he responds ruthlessly to threats, annihilating the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and Clear Sky Sect after their attacks against him. 179 181 230
Despite his ambition, he is often lazy about personally cultivating and prefers delegating long calculations and routine cultivation to King of Wisdom or Brain. 85 388
