Background / History
Tang San arrives at the academy as a plainly dressed work-study student. He immediately defeats Wang Sheng through precise, efficient hand-to-hand techniques, impressing Fang Ling and establishing himself among the work-study students. He is initially friendly when introduced to Fang Ling. 12
He possesses Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. His Blue Silver Grass carries Blue Silver Emperor bloodline through his mother, Ah Yin, a hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor; this bloodline grants him Innate Full Soul Power. However, Fang Ling and Dugu Bo kill the Blue Silver King before Tang San can use it to awaken his bloodline or evolve Blue Silver Grass into the Blue Silver Emperor. 179 180
Repeated tournament defeats expose Blue Silver Grass's elemental and offensive limitations. After failures against Canghui Academy and other opponents, Tang San resolves to cultivate the Clear Sky Hammer instead. With Tang Hao's help, he acquires four Black Spirit Rings for it and begins using it openly in competition. 196 197 201 204
Tang San enters Slaughter City to pursue strength, where his Killing Intent intensifies. He survives the Hell Road and the Asura God's trial, gaining the Killing God Domain at the price of severe burns, poison, scarring, and lasting changes to his appearance. 290 291
After Tang Hao dies during the conflict with Fang Ling, Tang San's hatred deepens. Asura God Power manifests when he confronts Fang Ling, allowing him to clash with Fang Ling's Death God Power and survive despite the vast difference in their ordinary cultivation. 298 299
He later founds a new Tang Sect in Star Luo City and develops hidden weapons with support from the Star Luo Imperial Family. 317 321 Under pressure to oppose Fang Ling, he embraces devouring cultivation and conducts massacres while disguised as a Fallen Spirit Master. 346 347
Appearance
Tang San initially has wheat-colored skin, neat short black hair, and an ordinary face that is neither notably handsome nor unattractive. 12
Following the Hell Road and Asura God's trial, he becomes severely burned and poisoned. His skin eventually heals into pink, hard scars with poor extensibility, and he is described as hairless after the ordeal. 291 292
- Eight Spider Lances emerge from his back as eight purple, venomous spear-like limbs. 183
- After reaching Level 99, the lances become pure blood-red and can release Devouring Threads. 369
- As a Divine Official, the transformed lances become eight crimson Asura Eight Wings. 383
- His later God Equipment is covered in sharp spikes and marked with intricate Slaughter God patterns; he carries a massive blood-colored sword. 383
Personality
Tang San is diligent, proud, and intensely unwilling to accept humiliation or defeat. His inability to tolerate being outclassed by peers drives his decision to abandon exclusive reliance on Blue Silver Grass and re-cultivate the Clear Sky Hammer. 201 204
He is protective of Xiao Wu and initially resists the temptation to harm innocents for cultivation. However, prolonged frustration, repeated losses, his altered appearance, Xiao Wu's departure, and hatred of Fang Ling erode his restraint. 169 283 346
His later pursuit of strength becomes obsessive. He believes he must become powerful enough to kill Fang Ling and regain Xiao Wu's favor, even when his cultivation damages his body and pushes him toward a demonic path. 346 369
