Background / History
Tang Hao lived in hiding around Notting City while secretly protecting Tang San and Xiao Wu. When Dugu Bo approached their route, Tang Hao intervened to keep him away, apparently fearing that Xiao Wu’s identity as a transformed hundred-thousand-year soul beast could be exposed. He revealed the Clear Sky Hammer and his nine soul rings, identifying himself as the Clear Sky Douluo. 137
He was devoted to Ah Yin and placed his hopes for revenge on Tang San’s future growth. Tang Hao expected Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass to awaken into the Blue Silver Emperor and wanted his son to cultivate both Twin Martial Souls to strength sufficient for revenge against Spirit Hall. 149 181
After Tang San’s attempted second awakening failed because the Blue Silver King was missing, Tang Hao regretted allowing Tang San onto the Path of Poison. With no apparent way to restore the Blue Silver Grass’s potential, he instructed Tang San to cultivate the Clear Sky Hammer instead. 203 204
Tang Hao’s old injuries steadily worsened, particularly after triggering Fang Ling’s landmines. By the time he returned from Slaughter City with Tang San, his cultivation was only around Level 90 and his meridians were clogged by accumulated injuries. 204 292 294
Appearance
Tang Hao is a burly, broad-backed man whose outwardly slovenly appearance contrasts with the pressure of a Titled Douluo. His prolonged injuries leave him visibly unhealthy in later appearances. 137 294 386
- Often conceals himself in black clothing and a hood. 137
- Has a sallow face and a perpetually unkempt appearance. 294
- His Soul Power circulation is irregular due to severe, long-suppressed injuries. 294
- When released from Fang Ling’s Divine Kingdom, he is described with steel-needle-like hair, a dark face, and a powerful build. 386
Personality
Tang Hao is taciturn, direct, and inclined toward overwhelming force rather than elaborate schemes. He acts decisively when Tang San or Xiao Wu seems endangered, whether by blocking Dugu Bo’s path or confronting Fang Ling over Ah Yin’s missing soul bone. 137 284
His concern for Tang San is genuine in moments of crisis: he worries about Tang San’s uncontrolled Killing Intent, injuries, and damaged body after Slaughter City. However, his later confession reveals that his paternal acceptance was also tied to Tang San’s Twin Martial Souls and potential to become an instrument of revenge. 292 293 386
Abilities & Skills
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang Hao possesses the Clear Sky Hammer, the renowned top-tier Tool Martial Soul of the Clear Sky Sect. 132 137
- Reveals nine soul rings: two yellow, two purple, four black, and one hundred-thousand-year red ring. 137
- Retains formidable combat instincts and hammer technique despite his old injuries. 297
- Fought in coordination with Tang Xiao as one of the “Haotian Twin Stars.” 297
Titled Douluo Strength
Tang Hao is a Titled Douluo, though his condition deteriorates significantly over the course of the story.
- His Soul Power is assessed at approximately Level 90 after Slaughter City. 292 294
- His injuries make every full-power attack feel as though it burns away his lifespan. 297
- His combat experience allows him to detect and partially counter Fang Ling’s teleportation-based ambush. 297
Great Sumeru Hammer
Tang Hao uses the Clear Sky Sect’s Great Sumeru Hammer, concentrating the power of soul rings into his martial soul for vastly increased striking force. 297
- Allows Tang Hao and Tang Xiao to temporarily contend with Fang Ling’s overwhelming physical strength. 297
- Is one of the secret inheritances Fang Ling seeks to obtain from Tang Hao. 294
- Its full use places immense strain on Tang Hao’s already damaged body. 297
Ring Detonation
Tang Hao’s final technique is Ring Detonation, a desperate self-sacrificial move that converts the power of his soul rings into a massive increase in combat strength. 297 298
- Raises his power close to Level 99, approaching god-level force. 298
- Causes his suppressed injuries to erupt; Fang Ling senses his meridians bursting and flesh breaking down. 298
- Tang Hao uses it to hold Fang Ling back while Tang Xiao escapes with Tang San. 297 298
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Clear Sky Hammer — Tang Hao’s martial soul and primary weapon. 137
- Six Soul Bones — Fang Ling identifies Tang Hao as possessing a complete set of six soul bones. 294 297

Relationships

- Ah Yin — Tang San’s mother and Tang Hao’s beloved. Her disappearance and the loss of her hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor right leg bone define much of his later hostility toward Fang Ling. 149 284
- Tang Xiao — His elder brother and fellow member of the Haotian Twin Stars. They join forces against Fang Ling, with Tang Hao sacrificing himself so Tang Xiao can flee with Tang San. 297 298
- Dugu Bo — A fellow Titled Douluo whom Tang Hao blocks while protecting Tang San and Xiao Wu; later, Tang Hao considers killing him alongside Fang Ling over Ah Yin’s soul bone. 137 284
- Tang Yuehua — Tang San’s aunt and Tang Hao’s relative. She receives Tang Hao and Tang San at Moonlight Pavilion and warns him of the consequences of attacking Fang Ling. 293
- Fang Ling — His principal enemy. Tang Hao believes Fang Ling stole Ah Yin’s soul bone, challenges him alongside Tang Xiao, and is killed in their battle. 284 297 298

Slaughter City and the Hunt for Fang Ling
Tang Hao supports Tang San through Slaughter City, giving him an 18,000-year head soul bone to restrain his Killing Intent. After learning more of Ah Yin’s disappearance, he becomes convinced that Fang Ling may possess her soul bone and resolves to confront him. 267 284
Battle Against Fang Ling
Tang Hao and Tang Xiao ambush Fang Ling to reclaim the Blue Silver Emperor right leg bone. Despite their coordination and the Great Sumeru Hammer, they are overwhelmed by Fang Ling’s seven hundred-thousand-year soul rings and superior strength. 297
