Purple Demon Eye

Tang San can activate the Purple Demon Eye to observe others’ movements and assess unusual phenomena. 1

• He uses it after noticing that Xiao is extraordinary upon entering the dormitory. 1
• Even with the Purple Demon Eye active, Xiao’s sudden movement leaves only a nearly imperceptible afterimage. 1
• While observing Xiao’s weapon, Tang San determines that Hupo Yuan is neither a Martial Soul nor a spirit tool: it produces no spirit-power fluctuation and appears as though conjured. 1

Personality

Tang San is observant and cautious. He immediately senses that Xiao is unusual, discreetly examines him with the Purple Demon Eye, and attempts conversation in hopes of learning more. 1

He is also curious about unfamiliar powers, remaining nearby to observe Xiao’s confrontation with the older students rather than intervening. 1

Relationships

• Xiao Wu — Dormitory mate. She notices Tang San rushing over when her group is challenged by the older students and initially wants him to deal with them. 1
• Xiao — A mysterious dormitory newcomer whom Tang San attempts to question and study. Tang San later observes Xiao defeat dozens of older students and summon Hupo Yuan. 1

Story Role / Major Arcs

Nuoding Academy

Tang San serves as the dormitory leader when Xiao arrives as a new student. Unlike the other children, Tang San recognizes that Xiao’s speed and demeanor are abnormal, then activates the Purple Demon Eye to investigate him. 1

During the dispute with Wang Ze’s older-student group, Tang San arrives as Xiao Wu considers how to respond. He watches Xiao accept the challenge, summon Hupo Yuan, and incapacitate the opposing students almost instantly. Tang San’s observations lead him to conclude that Xiao’s weapon does not conform to known Martial Soul or spirit-tool principles. 1
