Background

Tang San came to Luoding City Junior Soul Master Academy with Old Jack, while Tang Hao secretly followed them. He resented the public attention drawn by his poor appearance but maintained a considerate façade toward Old Jack, whose help he still valued. Tang San also treasured his connection to Tang Hao because he had lacked familial affection in his previous life. 13

At the academy gate, the gatekeeper trampled Tang San's martial-soul certificate. Tang San retaliated with Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track and a crippling kick, leaving the man incapacitated. 14

Yu Xiao Gang identified Tang San as a Twin Martial Souls possessor. Tang San initially considered killing him with a Silent Sleeve Arrow to protect that secret, but accepted him as a master after Yu Xiao Gang promised secrecy and assistance obtaining Soul Rings. 14

Tang Hao later attempted to force a relationship between Tang San and Xiao Wu by secretly placing the unconscious Xiao Wu in Tang San's dormitory. Xiao Wu reacted violently upon waking, leaving Tang San severely injured; he concealed the incident while using the Mysterious Heaven Skill to recover. 16 18

Appearance

Tang San is repeatedly described as dark-skinned or “black-faced,” with a poor, patched appearance during his arrival at Luoding Academy. His blacksmith work further leaves him sweaty and weathered. 13 15

  • Initially wears patched, impoverished clothing. 15
  • Keeps hidden weapons concealed at his wrists. 14
  • Wears the Twenty-Four Bridges Moonlight Night storage belt. 38 69
  • Appears healthier after leaving behind his blacksmith work. 95

Personality

Tang San is intensely secretive about his Twin Martial Souls and the Mysterious Heaven Skill. When Yu Xiao Gang deduced his secret, Tang San immediately considered assassination; later, he refused Wen Xuan's request to learn his cultivation method and privately entertained killing intent toward him. 14 109

He is outwardly polite when it benefits him, but reacts viciously to humiliation, threats, or perceived theft. He attacks the academy gatekeeper after his certificate is insulted, attempts to kill Ning Rongrong over the Hair Crystal, and marks grudges for future revenge even when forced to retreat. 14 67 69

Tang San is deeply fixated on Xiao Wu. He interprets minor signs as proof of her affection, repeatedly seeks her company, and pushes himself to cultivate so that he will not fall behind her or Wen Xuan. 15 63 123
