Background / History

The Three-faced Beings operate the Death Zone, where they summon God Kings for a lethal “trial.” They promise advancement to the Peak God Emperor realm or greater rewards to successful participants, while treating the invited cultivators as alien creatures rather than equals. One of their representatives instantly vaporizes several God Kings to enforce its authority. 365

Within the Death Zone, they maintain dense surveillance through countless scarlet eyes in the sky and deploy disparate hostile creatures, including Blade People and soul-devouring tentacled beings. Lu Chen's actions against these creatures draw the Three-faced Beings' interest and surveillance. 366 367

Those who survive their trials may be branded as slaves. Yun Xing, a God Emperor trial participant, is marked by a Three-faced Being and sent back to handle outside matters; when she reveals the arrangement to Lu Chen, the being takes direct possession of her body. 377

After escaping the Death Zone, Lu Chen learns that the Three-faced Beings consider the Starry Sky a prison established to exile criminals, with the Death Zone serving as its trial ground. 380 He later enters the Chaos Battlefield, where human Masters and Three-faced Beings wage an ongoing war. 381

Three-faced Beings are humanoid but distinctly inhuman entities with three faces, cold scarlet eyes, and sinister auras. Their appearance varies between manifested forms and true bodies.
