Background

Li Wangshu is the Heavenly Sword Sect's Third Generation Ancestor. His standing within the sect is contentious: Gu Du Wudi calls him a traitor and condemns his claim to the sect's legitimate inheritance, while Li Wangshu insists that he possesses the complete sword techniques of the Heavenly Sword Sect. 224

His conflict with the sect's First Generation Ancestor, Wang Chongyang, stems from Li Wangshu refining Wang Chongyang's physical body into a puppet-like treasure. Wang Chongyang remains furious over the act, even striking Li Wangshu when they meet in the Underworld. After Lu Chen defeats Li Wangshu's disciples, including Daoist Qingyuan and twenty-four sword masters, Li Wangshu recognizes Lu Chen's exceptional potential. He gives Lu Chen the key to the Sword Realm and relinquishes the prospect of leading the Heavenly Sword Sect himself. 225
