Ch. 863Dao Venerable Path

Qin Ming and Jiang Yutian entered the Dao Venerable Path, where Qin Ming faced increasingly brutal trials based on the dangers of his past and the feats of young Dao Venerables. After advancing through the Fifth Realm, he reached the Sixth Realm and found several Dao Venerable-level figures waiting together, leaving him unsure whether they would test him or attack him.

  • Jiang Yutian joined Qin Ming on the Dao Venerable Path, and the barrier sealed them off from the spectators as each chose a separate branch.
  • Qin Ming relived his youth in the First Realm, defeated ten mutated Donkey-Headed Wolves, and then slew a juvenile Red Dragon, while spectators questioned whether the trial was unfairly difficult.
  • In the Second Realm, Qin Ming exterminated a swarm of Locust Demons and survived a palm strike from a true young Dao Venerable; Jiang Yutian also advanced after enduring a trial of Primordial Flame.
  • Qin Ming overcame the Four Sacred Spirits and their Killing Array in the Third Realm, then fought through demon-infested lands in the Fourth Realm and defeated Thirty-Six Top Experts in the Fifth Realm.
  • Jiang Yutian reached the Fourth Realm after nearly dying in the Third, while Qin Ming advanced into the Sixth Realm and found several Dao Venerable-level figures gathered before him.

Ch. 864A bold stroke in the annals of history

Qin Ming entered the Sixth Realm trial and challenged a group of young Dao Venerables, first defeating a saber expert with a saber controlled by his feet. He then fought the short-haired Dao Venerable of the Primordial God-Demon Clan in a contest of physical strength, leaving the young Dao Venerable injured and trailing after ten punches.

  • Qin Ming spotted several young Dao Venerables and cautiously greeted them instead of attacking, but the short-haired youth challenged him to fight.
  • The Dao Venerables sealed the area and sent a burly blade attendant to test Qin Ming’s saber skills; Qin Ming beat him using his feet and made him concede.
  • Qin Ming revealed he had cultivated for about twenty years and asked to discuss cultivation methods with the Dao Venerables if he proved himself.
  • The short-haired Dao Venerable tested Qin Ming’s physique, and the two clashed with their bodies and Blood Qi until the Dao Venerable began to bleed.
  • Qin Ming and the short-haired youth agreed to settle the contest with ten punches; after the exchange, Qin Ming’s fingers bled while the Dao Venerable’s arms were broken and he staggered.

Ch. 865Son-in-law material for every great sanctuary

Qin Ming defeated a Primordial God-Demon Dao Venerable in a contest of physical strength, drawing the attention of the factions and ancient experts gathered outside the barrier. After exposing a female Dao Venerable’s illusion, he challenged the assembled Dao Venerables to solve his Supreme Sovereign Conjecture, leaving them to consider his claim that it could take on ten of them.

  • Qin Ming defeated the short-haired young Dao Venerable of the Gods and Devils clan, while observers marveled that a human had matched a Primordial Foundation.
  • The gathered factions argued over Qin Ming’s potential and tried to recruit him, while Jiang Yutian emerged from the Dao Venerable Path and learned that Qin Ming had surpassed his achievement.
  • The short-haired young Dao Venerable praised Qin Ming’s physical strength, and Qin Ming spoke with the revived Dao Venerables about their origins and pasts.
  • Qin Ming saw through the female Dao Venerable’s illusion and challenged her, then welcomed her offer to follow the rules and discuss cultivation methods.
  • Qin Ming presented the Supreme Sovereign Conjecture as an unsolved problem for the Dao Venerables, and a newcomer questioned whether it belonged alongside famous hypotheses.

Ch. 866Exhilarating

Qin Ming challenged the young Dao Venerables with the Supreme Sovereign Conjecture, then fought the blond Dao Venerable who rode a Kunpeng. After a fierce battle, Qin Ming defeated him, and the blond Dao Venerable admitted his loss.

  • Qin Ming counted six Dao Venerables within his perception and identified the two board players as the Inner Demon Patriarch split into two equal sides.
  • Qin Ming presented the Supreme Sovereign Conjecture, leaving the Dao Venerables absorbed in studying its problems.
  • Qin Ming exchanged the Body Refining and Dao Integration Scripture for the Devil Venerable's Primordial God-Demon Body Refining Instruction.
  • The blond young Dao Venerable challenged Qin Ming to test his abilities, and the two began a bloody battle with their weapons.
  • Qin Ming fought more fiercely as inspiration struck, then overwhelmed the blond Dao Venerable with repeated saber strikes and split him in two.
  • The blond Dao Venerable reassembled himself, withdrew, and admitted that he had lost.

Ch. 867The Dao Discussion Ends

After defeating the blond young Dao Venerable, Qin Ming discussed the incomplete Silk Book Method and the mysteries of gates and life with the Dao Venerables. The discussion ended when they sensed the Exotic Gold Cloth on him and the six Dao Venerables surrounded him for the final stage of his trial.

  • Qin Ming defeated the blond young Dao Venerable, whose halberd dissolved because it had been formed from Dao resonance.
  • The Dao Venerables studied the incomplete Silk Book Method, identified its hidden dangers, and injured themselves when they tried cultivating it.
  • Qin Ming and the Dao Venerables discussed mysterious gates, microscopic life, and the physiques Qin Ming might awaken.
  • The Dao Venerable of the Primordial God-Demon Clan revealed that Qin Ming carried a piece of Exotic Gold Cloth.
  • The six Dao Venerables surrounded Qin Ming, and observers outside the barrier realized his trial was entering its final stage.

Ch. 868Six Dao Venerables Take the Field

Qin Ming learned why the six young Dao Venerables feared the Exotic Gold Cloth and Night, then faced their joint attack on the Dao Venerable Path. He wounded the Inner Demon Dao Venerable and broke through to ambush the female Dao Venerable.

  • The six young Dao Venerables explained that Night had once driven a Supreme Expert mad and destroyed a Supreme Dao Field, while Qin Ming tossed them the Exotic Gold Cloth to inspect.
  • After deciding the cloth was no longer the Night of the past, the six Dao Venerables resumed their test and attacked Qin Ming together, wounding him.
  • Qin Ming split into six Sovereigns, then challenged the Inner Demon Dao Venerable to a game of Go that turned into a battle against two manifestations of the Dao Venerable's inner demon.
  • Qin Ming used his External Demon and the Black White Scripture to grievously wound both Inner Demon Dao Venerables and rode through to another battlefield.
  • Qin Ming concealed his External Demon, ambushed the female Dao Venerable, and struck her with two punches as his third punch approached her forehead.

Ch. 869The truth was suffocating

Qin Ming was trapped in a shared mind realm with the Inner Demon Dao Venerable and the female Dao Venerable, where he confronted the truth hidden in his heart. Wu Yao and Li Wanfa tried to take him over, but a gigantic golden Xin Yuan appeared, destroyed them, and left Qin Ming questioning his own identity.

  • Qin Ming ambushed the female Dao Venerable with the external demon and his true body, splitting her flesh apart, but she survived as a spirit and retaliated by destroying his Six Sovereigns body.
  • The Inner Demon Dao Venerable and the female Dao Venerable drew Qin Ming and the external demon into an immense mind realm, where Qin Ming searched his heart for a way out.
  • Qin Ming found a heart cocoon containing Wu Yao, who revealed that he had seized Qin Ming's body years earlier and planted a mark in his mind, with Li Wanfa helping him prepare to merge with Qin Ming.
  • As Wu Yao and Li Wanfa attacked Qin Ming's consciousness, a gigantic golden savage ape called Xin Yuan emerged from Qin Ming's subconscious and destroyed them.
  • The golden Xin Yuan told Qin Ming that he was the strongest Xin Yuan it had separated from itself and that its true body would merge with him, leaving Qin Ming stunned and uncertain of who he was.

Ch. 870Every contact leaves a trace

Qin Ming escaped the Dao Venerables’ assault on his mind, discovered that traces left by Wu Yao, Li Wanfa, Xin Yuan, and the Lord of Jade Capital were real but limited, and burned away the hidden dangers he could. He then resumed fighting the Dao Venerables, and the chapter ended as he and his External Demon charged into a bloody battle against six opponents.

  • Qin Ming resisted the Inner Demon Dao Venerable and the female Dao Venerable’s illusions, broke free of the Spirit Domain, and realized that several mental traces corresponded to real contact from his past.
  • Qin Ming used chaotic fire to burn away the hidden traces and refined the External Demon without absorbing its source, deciding to keep his own source pure.
  • Qin Ming identified the flaw in the opponents’ illusions and attacked the female Dao Venerable and the Inner Demon Dao Venerable, trading grievous injuries with them and using the External Demon’s self-destruction to damage them.
  • The blond young Dao Venerable, the Primordial God-Demon Clan youth, the brush-wielding Dao Venerable, and the Innate Sacred Being joined the fight, and all six Dao Venerables together reduced Qin Ming to blood mist before Adhesion Force rebuilt him.
  • Qin Ming agreed to a final one-breath battle in which any Dao Venerable he seriously injured would have to leave, then charged into the fray with the External Demon as the battlefield erupted into gore.

Ch. 871Taking on Six Dao Venerables Alone

Qin Ming faced six Dao Venerables by unleashing violent Dao resonances that battered everyone in the barrier, then tried to escape the backlash. The Exotic Gold Cloth refused to let him in and threatened to kill him.

  • Qin Ming used the External Demon’s self-detonation to grievously injure the brush-wielding young Dao Venerable, forcing him to leave the battlefield under their agreement.
  • The five remaining Dao Venerables pressed forward together, and Qin Ming invited the young Dao Venerable to rejoin them before promising a genuine clash without detonating.
  • Qin Ming drew down chaotic Dao resonances and amplified them with the Ten-Colored Sacred Fiend, forcing himself and all six Dao Venerables to endure catastrophic backlash.
  • Qin Ming stopped adding to the Dao resonances and tried to retreat, but the Exotic Gold Cloth ignored his calls to open the door.
  • The Exotic Gold Cloth answered Qin Ming’s claim that he was Day by threatening to kill him.

Ch. 872Only Then, It Was Already Lost in Bewilderment

Qin Ming survived the Sixth Realm trial and befriended the young figures carrying Dao Venerables’ memories, but he died on the Seventh Realm path and emerged with only fragments of their conversations. After the group left the mysterious realm, everyone awoke beside the Abyss with their memories of the experience blurred and a ten-colored radiance glowing below.

  • Qin Ming and the young Dao Venerables endured simulated chaotic Dao resonance until the trial reset, after which they welcomed him and shared a meal.
  • Qin Ming questioned the Dao Venerables about their memories, origins, and the Night Mist World, but the place’s rules repeatedly erased what he learned.
  • Qin Ming bonded with the young Dao Venerables over wine, then tried the Seventh Realm path, died, and was teleported out as the Exotic Gold Cloth fused a scrap into itself and restored him.
  • Qin Ming spent more than two months with the others, received twenty-four doses of Secret Medicine and its formula, and departed by boat with Mu Shinian and the group.
  • Everyone awoke beside the Abyss unable to remember their apparent experiences, while Qin Ming noticed traces of twenty-four bottles and a ten-colored radiance at the bottom.

Ch. 873A miracle only Dao Venerable-level beings were fortunate enough to witness (part one)

The Ruin Nightmare burned out beneath the Abyss, and Blood Buddha and Longevity Daoist explained that its fragrance had drawn the people of the Ruin Realm into a shared illusion. As the survivors struggled to distinguish dream from reality, Qin Ming realized he might have retained a genuine scripture and a method for refining Secret Medicine.

  • The Ruin Nightmare's collapsing flower filled the Abyss with light, and Blood Buddha reassured everyone that its flowering was nearly over and it posed no danger now.
  • Longevity Daoist and Blood Buddha explained that the Ruin Nightmare's fragrance created illusions that could ensnare even peak Eighth Realm Great Sages, while Dao Venerables alone could resist it.
  • The survivors recalled strange experiences from the apparent dream and examined ashes and other remnants, which Longevity Daoist said had been transformed into dream objects by their minds.
  • Qin Ming suspected that the items in his possession did not match his memories and found that he could still recall a profound body-refining scripture and a hazy method for preparing Secret Medicine.
  • The Ruin Nightmare shattered into ashes, and Blood Buddha said it might be capable of transmitting techniques; the group discussed several theories about the flower's origins.

Ch. 874A miracle only Dao Venerable-level beings were fortunate enough to witness [Part two]

Qin Ming and the others returned from the Night Mist World after discovering that the Ruin Demon had caused an entire region to sleep for more than two months, and the Four Dao Fields began investigating the Abyss and its history. Back in the main world, Qin Ming learned that Qing Yue was well and was told it was time to pioneer the Seventh Realm of the New Life Path.

  • Longevity Daoist recalled a manuscript about a mutated flower that could open a real path to a distant shore, and the group left the Abyss to seek answers from the Four Dao Fields.
  • The Purple-Haired Old Heavenly Immortal told the Four Dao Fields that the group had encountered a Ruin Demon, and they learned that everyone in the region had slept for more than two months.
  • The Four Dao Fields revealed that six Dao Venerables had investigated the Ten-Colored Fire Spring, while Qin Ming recalled seeing their youthful faces and hearing that the Otherworld was a refuge.
  • The visitors departed the Night Mist World with medicinal treasures, and the older figures led them through the Mist Gate back to Myriad Gods Mountain.
  • Qin Ming asked Guan Xu about Qing Yue and learned that she was well, while Wei Guanxuan assured him there was no need to worry about Liu Mo.
  • Wei Guanxuan declared that it was time to formally pioneer the Seventh Realm of the New Life Path.

Ch. 875Even the Ninth Realm cannot escape

Qin Ming learned that Li Qingyue had joined Tushita Palace’s Gate Project in hopes of reviving him, then trained under Yin Jiuxu in Maple Forest City. After Yin Jiuxu severed their karmic ties and warned Qin Ming to stay away for a hundred years, Qin Ming returned to Night Prefecture and found Red Squirrel boasting to children about raising him.

  • Guan Xu told Qin Ming that Li Qingyue had joined the Gate Project to help revive him, and that she was safe but unable to return yet.
  • Yin Jiuxu appeared near the Yin-Yang Ruins, invited Qin Ming to Maple Forest City, and later taught him to temper his soul and body with the Yin-Yang Sacred Shears.
  • After more than a year of training, Yin Jiuxu warned Qin Ming that he sensed his death approaching, severed his karmic ties to Qin Ming and Liu Mo, and ordered Qin Ming not to return for a hundred years.
  • Qin Ming left Maple Forest City, where Jiang Xiwei and Jiang Cheng recognized him as the man who had once saved them.
  • Qin Ming returned to Double Tree Village in Night Prefecture and found Red Squirrel claiming it had raised him to a group of children.
  • When a child warned Red Squirrel that someone was behind it, Qin Ming grabbed it by the scruff of its neck.

Ch. 876Never as in Youth Again [Part One]

Qin Ming returned to Double Tree Village after twenty-one years and reunited with Wen Rui, Wen Hui, and the villagers, reflecting on how they had aged while he remained unchanged. He decided to keep his return quiet and enter seclusion in Black White Mountain before becoming an immortal, while Yu Gensheng explained why he had chosen to stay in Night Prefecture.

  • Qin Ming caught Red Squirrel frightening the village children, then revealed himself to Wen Rui and the gathered villagers.
  • Qin Ming reunited with Wen Hui, Xu Yueping, Lu Wenze, Liang Wanqing, and other villagers, and reflected on the twenty-one years that had passed.
  • Liang Wanqing urged Qin Ming to consider his personal affairs, prompting him to think about starting a family and visiting Fate Cave to learn about his parents.
  • Qin Ming used a Secret Method to make the villagers forget their reunion for now, intending to avoid attracting visitors and to enter seclusion in Black White Mountain.
  • Talking Finch and Thunder Jade Bird returned, and Qin Ming rewarded them with cultivation methods and spirit medicines.
  • Yu Gensheng reunited with Qin Ming and said he had chosen to remain in Night Prefecture to spend his remaining years in his native soil.

Ch. 877Never quite like youth again [Part two]

After the Jade Capital and the major factions left Night Prefecture, Qin Ming learned how much the region had changed and that Liu Mo had already escaped his predicament and departed. Qin Ming entered Black White Mountain to prepare for a breakthrough, aiming to become an immortal without changing his life-form.

  • Yu Gensheng told Qin Ming that the Jade Capital had summoned the major factions and Ancestral Courts to the Primordial Dao Field, leaving Night Prefecture and surrounding regions with only remnants of their former forces.
  • Qin Ming announced that he planned to become an immortal in Night Prefecture, shocking Yu Gensheng, the Talking Finch, the Red Squirrel, the Thunder King Bird, and the others.
  • Yu Gensheng and Wen Rui revealed that Liu Mo had completed Great Nirvana ahead of schedule, left Black White Mountain, and taken the name Mo Bai.
  • Qin Ming learned that Liu Mo's Divine Woman, children, and grandchildren had all been manifestations of Liu Mo himself, while the Dog Sword Immortal had been the only outsider in his family.
  • Qin Ming read letters from Meng Xinghai, Yao Ruoxian, Bai Meng, Tang Yushang, and other acquaintances who had left Night Prefecture.
  • Qin Ming went to Black White Mountain to enter seclusion and pursue a breakthrough that would let him become an immortal without changing his life-form.

Ch. 878Comprehending the Dao in Night Prefecture [I]

Qin Ming secluded himself in Black White Mountain to perfect his arts, while the mountain’s aberrants and his companions benefited from his Dao resonance. As he prepared to leave the mountain to avoid a possible Eighth Realm attack during the approaching nine-five period, he remained focused on refining his foundation before becoming an immortal.

  • Qin Ming settled into seclusion in Black White Mountain, where Red Squirrel, Talking Finch, Thunder King Bird, Wen Rui, and Yu Gensheng joined him and cultivated under his Dao resonance.
  • Qin Ming met Red Squirrel’s weasel dao companion and a descendant of Old Donkey, then learned that the mountain’s old fiends had become Fifth Realm Masters under Dog Sword Immortal’s guidance.

As he fought through the tribulation and pushed toward the Outer Domain, he found his way blocked by a vast abyss of darkness and order.

  • Qin Ming's killing of Jiuying drew powerful beings to the ashes, but the Nine-Eyed Holy Race's expert failed to trace what had happened.
  • Qin Ming learned that the outsiders in Night Prefecture had come seeking an undefined encounter with fate, then harvested vegetation essence across the region to advance his cultivation.
