Arc 17Roshi’s Fireworks

Yuu forced Roshi and the Four-Tails to turn Lava Release into a fireworks display, then used it to undermine Iwagakure’s morale before the decisive battle. The display left Iwagakure’s defenses exhausted and its formation in disarray as the armies faced one another.

  • Ōnoki recovered from his coma, blamed Konoha and Yuu for Iwagakure’s troubles, and vowed to kill Yuu as fighting spread across the Land of Rivers and the Land of Rain.
  • The Four-Tails told Roshi that it had kept him sealed inside its body because Yuu had nearly killed it, while Yuu dragged Roshi from his cell and ordered him to work.

Arc 18The Sword Storm at Iwagakure

Yuu led Konoha’s assault on Iwagakure, overwhelming Ōnoki and Han with feints and devastating sword techniques. After the Sword Storm slaughtered thousands, Han begged the Five-Tails to take over his body and kill Yuu in exchange for freedom.

  • Yuu challenged Ōnoki and Han, then nearly cut Han in half and wounded him so severely that his Tailed Beast chakra could not heal him.
  • Minato attacked Iwagakure’s formation with the Flying Thunder God Technique while Yuu separated Ōnoki from his forces and destroyed his Dust Release with a single slash.

Arc 19The Fall of Iwagakure

Yuu defeated Ōnoki and the Five-Tails, then brought Iwagakure to the brink of surrender with his continued attacks. As the Land of Earth Daimyo’s Mansion intervened, Konoha’s elders argued over the spoils while Hiruzen prepared to send Yuu a message.

  • The Five-Tails joined Ōnoki against Yuu, but Yuu replenished his strength with Nectar and unleashed a devastating black slash that cut through their strongest attacks and left both severely wounded.
  • Kitsuchi and Hikari found Ōnoki alive but gravely injured, while Yuu captured the nearly lifeless Five-Tails and ordered Roshi to carry it along in exchange for booze.

Arc 20Iwagakure’s Wine Tribute

Yuu ignored orders to stop attacking Iwagakure, then spared the village in exchange for its fine wine and forced Kitsuchi to lead a fitness campaign. As Konoha departed with the collected liquor and resources, Aozora Uzuki won Yuu’s promised guidance for his daughter, Yugao.

  • Tsunade delivered the Elder Council’s ceasefire order and Hiruzen Sarutobi’s letter, but Yuu tore up the order and kept attacking Iwagakure.
