After defeating Iwagakure, Saiki Yuu returned to Konoha and clashed with its elders while Danzo plotted against him. Yuu assessed his growing power and set out toward Kumogakure as other villages stirred.

• Ōnoki woke from his injuries, learned of Iwagakure’s defeat, and erupted in anger when Kitsuchi revealed that Saiki Yuu had taken his wine and ordered the Stone Ninja to train.
• Konoha’s victorious forces returned with wine and other spoils, and Minato asked Yuu to teach him an attack, so Yuu agreed to teach him the Rasengan in exchange for game.
• At Konoha’s gates, Yuu insulted the elders, struck Elder Inoue, and beat Utatane Koharu until Hiruzen Sarutobi intervened and Tsunade healed Inoue.
• Hiruzen Sarutobi concealed Koharu’s beating from civilians and told the elders that Iwagakure had paid reparations with the Four-Tails and Five-Tails, while the elders protested Yuu’s conduct.
• Danzo decided to obtain the Four-Tails and Five-Tails and use his resources to kill Yuu, whom he feared could become a powerful Hokage candidate.
• Yuu spent time being pampered by Kurenai, Rin, Tsunade, and Shizune, then checked his attributes and found his strength and Haki had advanced.
• Yuu discovered that defeating Ōnoki had unlocked Mingmie and planned to target Kumogakure’s Two-Tails and Eight-Tails before leaving home with Shusui to confront the person who had sent him to the Stone Battlefield.
• Hiruzen Sarutobi read reports of trouble in Kirigakure and Sunagakure and worried over the troubled times.

Yuu forced Hiruzen to compensate him for his war service, then set out for the Cloud Battlefield with Uzuki Yugao, Minato, and Tsunade. His victories drove Sunagakure and Kumogakure to prepare for a renewed war against Konoha and to target him.

• Yuu confronted Hiruzen over his unpaid rewards and secured a promise of thirty bottles of special liquor before announcing he would go to the Cloud Battlefield to confront Jiraiya and Orochimaru.
• Yuu picked up Uzuki Yugao to teach her swordsmanship and recruited Kakashi and Minato to carry his luggage, making Minato his Logistics Chief.
• At the Cloud Frontline, Yuu brought Tsunade and Yugao, taught Yugao the power of hearing, and gave Kakashi another chance to improve by sparring with her.
• Yuu trained Yugao to attack while Kakashi defended with a sheathed blade, and Minato returned to news that Iwagakure had been decisively defeated and Ōnoki had lost an arm.
• In Sunagakure, Chiyo urged Rasa to join Kumogakure and Kirigakure in renewing the war against Konoha and eliminating Yuu, and Rasa agreed to declare war.
• The Third Raikage ordered A and Killer B to capture Yuu alive if possible, while A vowed to defeat him.

Yuu reached the Cloud Frontline, punished Jiraiya and Orochimaru, and drew the Third Raikage into battle. After killing a Kumogakure Jonin and provoking the Cloud leadership, Yuu defeated the Third Raikage with a single slash.

• Yuu arrived at the Cloud Frontline camp and beat Orochimaru and Jiraiya with his scabbard, while the Konoha shinobi welcomed him as a war hero.
• Utatane Koharu learned she could not feel anything below her waist and vowed revenge, but the Land of Fire Daimyo's Mansion backed Yuu and approved a reward for him.
• Danzo visited Roshi and Han in prison and recruited them to work against Yuu, while the two secretly planned to kill Danzo and offer him to Yuu.
• After a Cloud Jonin delivered A's challenge, Yuu killed him and returned his head, prompting the Third Raikage to vow that he would kill Yuu.
• The Third Raikage and A attacked Konoha supply points, and Yuu went to confront them with Jiraiya and Orochimaru despite Tsunade's concerns.
• Yuu arrived on the battlefield, cut the Third Raikage's hand, and taunted him and A while Killer B recorded Yuu's insults.
• The Third Raikage attacked Yuu with lightning, but Yuu's One-Sword Style—Heart Slash cut through his Lightning Armor and sent him flying as A watched in disbelief.

Saiki Yuu defeated the Third Raikage with a single sword technique, leaving Kumogakure shaken and prompting it to ally with Sunagakure against him. Iwagakure withdrew from the war, while Hiruzen visited Danzo at Root and claimed he wanted to discuss military affairs.

• Saiki Yuu taunted the Third Raikage, drank during their fight, and used his enhanced abilities to sever the Raikage’s left arm.
• The Third Raikage unleashed Hell Stab—One-Finger Nukite, but Yuu stopped his attack with One-Sword Style—All Creation—Mingmie and killed him.
• Killer B and A retreated to the Cloud Hidden Camp, where the Eight-Tails warned A that Yuu was too powerful to challenge and agreed to help him for Killer B’s sake.
• Yuu returned to the Konoha camp, where Tsunade welcomed him and the Konoha shinobi learned that he had killed the Third Raikage.
• A succeeded his father as the Fourth Raikage and swore revenge, while Kumogakure accepted Sunagakure’s offer to form an allied force against Yuu.
• Ōnoki judged that the alliance could not defeat Yuu and withdrew Iwagakure from the war, planning to send him Nectar to secure the village’s safety.
• Hiruzen dismissed the elders’ concerns and went to Root, where he teased Danzo before claiming he had come to discuss military affairs.
