"A Card of Blasphemy?"
Angel's gaze also settled on the ruins of the building, which had survived far more intact than the others. She asked in confusion.
"No, I mean something worth no less than a Card of Blasphemy. After weighing everything, I also think Qilingus must have been after a card that could take him straight to High Sequence, but I can't be certain."

Indeed, Qilingus, the former Vice Admiral Hurricane, already had his own fleet and Creeping Hunger, a Mystical Item comparable to a High Sequence one. If he steadily expanded his power at sea, advancing to Sequence 5 should not have been difficult. The only thing that could have made him abandon it all and travel alone to Backlund was a ticket to High Sequence...
The Desire Apostle who had risked assassinating Duke Negan had also been after an Abyss card. Qilingus had followed such a similar course, even targeting the same man, that he might well have been promised a Card of Blasphemy as his reward.
Angel recalled her experiences in Backlund and concluded that Alger's reasoning made sense.
But whatever the case, they would have to enter the ruins to determine whether the supposed "valuable item" was one of the cards Emperor Roselle had left behind.
"Then we'd better move quickly. You probably have only eight minutes left."
Klein glanced at Alger and spoke quietly.
Ten minutes after using the Magician Pocket Watch, he would suffer twelve hours of fear of firelight... Angel's mouth twitched as she recalled her own miserable experiences. She said briskly:
"Lead the way."
Alger felt the pocket watch in his pocket, nodded in silence, then raised the lantern with some hesitation and led them toward the building.
