So Angel immediately caught the trace of unease Dorian hid behind his expression when he spoke of "the Abraham Family's Angels," and the worry that followed.

If the Abrahams really had several Sequence 2s, he wouldn't be acting like this. I'd be the one who should worry... Angel thought. She soon understood where his concern came from:

The Abraham Family was nothing like Dorian had claimed. They might have no Angels at all, perhaps not even a Saint!

It was a reasonable guess. From the Master Key she had obtained, the death and surviving notes of that unfortunate Abraham descendant, and the Tarot Club's discussions of Mr. "Door" and his ravings, one thing was clear: members of this family were cursed through their bloodline. Whenever the moon was full or blood-red, or their spirituality overflowed, they suffered maddening ravings. Surviving long enough to reach High Sequence would be difficult.

They even had to test promising outsiders, take them as students, and teach them the Potions of the Apprentice Pathway, hoping those people would help restore the Abraham Family.

That was true of the traitor Mr. X, Louis Wien, and of the Tarot Club's Magician, Fors Wall.

Even if they had one or two Saints, they wouldn't send a member as weak as the man before me to deal with a Demoness of Despair...

Of course, Dorian was probably not lying entirely. As an Angel family that had existed since the Fourth Epoch and survived to this day, they must still possess some Beyonder Characteristics, Mystical Items, or even Sealed
