After pursuing the Antigonus Family Notebook and fighting the Beyonders of the Secret Order, the Tingen City Nighthawks Squad had concluded that their opponent possessed the strength of Sequence 7. Yet whether it was Flaming Jump or Paper Figurine Substitute, they had searched through all their internal records and tomes without finding anything relevant. They could only report the matter and leave the Holy Cathedral to investigate.
After Kavi confirmed with her own lips that Tomaz was only Sequence 8, and furthermore directly denied that this Beyonder Pathway possessed any similar abilities, the various Beyonder Abilities he had displayed in battle could only be explained by a Mystical Item.
Just as Angel's Bloodthirst had gained some of the corresponding abilities after absorbing a Witch's Beyonder Characteristic, perhaps Tomaz had obtained a similar item through some channel—one that had likewise absorbed a certain Beyonder Characteristic, allowing him to use Beyonder Abilities that did not belong to his own Potion sequence.
Having figured this out, Kavi's eyes lit up. She rose from her chair and, heedless of the wrecked clock shop around her, paced back and forth over shattered glass. Amid the crunching sounds beneath her feet, she muttered:
"That explains it... The two abilities he used in that battle—turning into a paper figurine and teleporting through flames—are very similar to a wild Beyonder I encountered before. He was Sequence 7 of the Seer Pathway, and his Potion was called Magician."
A Mid Sequence of the Seer Pathway... Magician?
Angel stared in astonishment. She had never expected the Seer Pathway, which only offered divination and Ritual Magic without any combat enhancement, to gain such bizarre and versatile Beyonder Abilities as the Tuxedo Clown's at Sequence 7.
