"Is this... the world inside mirrors?"
Watching the dark tunnels rushing past beside her, Audrey, held against Angel's chest in both arms, widened her eyes and looked around excitedly, murmuring to herself.
The last outsider Angel had brought into the Mirror World was Helene, captain of the Red Haired Woman, but the moment she entered this mysterious world, she had struggled and squirmed like an anxious quail.
Audrey, on the other hand, was a "novice" who had hardly ever left Backlund and had always lived under protection, yet she displayed a rare exhilaration.
Surprised, Angel secretly took a detour, stretching the trip to Douton Street—which was only a few hundred meters from No. 160 on Böklund Street and could have been reached in a blink—into several minutes.
"This place is similar to the Spirit World, but it isn't part of the same continuous world," she explained as she carried Audrey slowly through the tunnels. "Compared with the vast and dangerous Spirit World, the tunnels in the Mirror World only lead to different mirrors. That's why you can only see such spectacular sights in cities. In the suburbs or out at sea, there are only a handful of tunnels, and even fewer people can enter them. As far as I know, only high-ranking Demonesses and people who activate Mirror Tunnels using certain Mystical Items can come here... of course, there are also the 'Mirror People' who are native to the Mirror World."
"This is different from how Mr. World brought me from the Student Aid Fund's office to his home earlier... but I prefer the feeling of traveling through these quiet tunnels. It reminds me of certain strange, magnificent dreams."
As Audrey spoke wistfully, she spread her arms slightly, making it easier for Angel's hands beneath her armpits to support her.
