Background / History
Tang San was an outer sect disciple of the Tang Sect in his previous life. After stealing the inner sect manual, the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, he leapt from a cliff in accordance with Tang Sect rules and arrived in the Douluo Continent. He retained mastery of the Tang Sect’s six great secret arts despite having been an outer disciple. 369
In Holy Soul Village, Tang San endured a harsh childhood while caring for Tang Hao and the household. His life changed when Gu You befriended him; Gu You, Old Jack, and later Xiao Wu became the family Tang San had lacked. 369 Tang San eventually asked Gu You to become his brother and Xiao Wu to become his little sister, formalizing their found-family bond. 53
His martial soul awakening revealed Blue Silver Grass with Innate Full Soul Power. Gu You deduced that this was impossible for ordinary, unmutated Blue Silver Grass and convinced Tang San to disclose his second martial soul: the Clear Sky Hammer. 4 Tang Hao instructed him to use the hammer in his left hand to protect the grass in his right. 6
Tang San rejected Yu Xiaogang’s attempts to draw out his secret and concealed his Twin Martial Souls. Gu You’s guidance instead shaped his development toward a vitality-centered support path that also retained battlefield control and combat utility. 16 51 145
Appearance
Tang San initially had a wheat-colored complexion, short black hair, bright black eyes, and facial lines resembling Tang Hao’s—rugged but more spirited than decadent. After his second Soul Ring and later Blue Silver Emperor awakening, his features softened, his skin lightened, and his appearance became markedly more handsome and feminine. 123 339 374
- Height: 175 cm. 369
- Weight: 60 kg. 369
- His awakened Blue Silver Emperor is described as crystal-clear rather than ordinary Blue Silver Grass. 154
- By the time of the Fallen One incident at Holy Soul Village, he had blue hair. 421
Personality
Tang San is calm, observant, and cautious with his secrets. Gu You’s warnings made him suspicious of Yu Xiaogang’s motives and unwilling to reveal his Twin Martial Souls merely because Yu Xiaogang claimed to have deduced them. 15 16
He values family affection deeply. Gu You’s friendship allowed him to gradually reveal his true self, including Tang Sect techniques he had previously kept hidden from others. In gratitude, Tang San voluntarily gave Gu You the Mysterious Heaven Skill. 24 He is especially attached to Old Jack, Gu You, Xiao Wu, Lanta, and Meng Yiran. 369
Tang San prefers analysis, planning, and responsibility over Tang Hao’s philosophy of overwhelming force. He has a strong protective streak, but can be ruthless when confronting those who harm people or places important to his family. 361 421 423
Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Souls
Tang San possesses the Clear Sky Hammer in his left hand and Blue Silver Grass—later revealed to be the Blue Silver Emperor—in his right. 4 346
- Clear Sky Hammer — Tang Hao identifies it as the martial soul meant to protect Tang San’s grass martial soul. 6
- Blue Silver Emperor — The royal form hidden beneath his Blue Silver Grass; it commands Blue Silver Grass and develops through life-oriented abilities. 340 369
- His Blue Silver Grass was deliberately developed away from poison and toward vitality, healing, support, and control. 145
Rooting
Tang San’s first Soul Skill extracts energy from the earth, converts it into life force, and transmits that life force through Blue Silver Grass. 103
- Restores stamina and soul power to allies through contact. 32
- Can convert life force into Tang San’s own physical strength and soul power. 150
- Creates an Excess Vitality state that boosts his physical techniques. 115
- Requires contact with the ground. 36
- Its recovery capacity depends on the strength of the Blue Silver Grass acting as the transmission channel. 103
Fragrant Storm
Tang San’s second Soul Skill originates from an Aromatic Rosemary of the Fragrant Family. 150
- Emits a fragrance with four effects: enhancement, rapid healing, weakness induction, and resistance to special statuses. 123 150
- Provides broad support rather than a single specialized effect. 115
- Its development direction includes a potential Fragrant Garden; Gu You rejected an “Aroma Bomb” direction. 150
Photosynthesis
Tang San’s third Soul Skill collects solar energy. 150 363
- Supplies the offensive force behind the Blue Silver Tyrant Emperor Spear. 363
- Is strongest under direct sunlight. 363
- Contributes light and fire-associated energy to his Blue Silver Grass development. 150
Command of the Emperor
Tang San’s fourth Soul Skill allows him to hear and command plants within range. 340
- Can direct nearby plants to attack, demonstrated by commanding a Pinellia tuber to strike Dugu Bo. 340
- Was named by Gu You after Tang San’s fourth-ring awakening. 340
Blue Silver Domain
A domain inherited through the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline. 340 369
- Enhances the Blue Silver Emperor and transforms natural Blue Silver Grass within range into its clones. 340
- Draws on the life force of Blue Silver Grass in the domain to replenish life force, soul power, or mental power. 369
- Can rewrite plant-filled terrain into a Forest and command the vegetation within. 369
- Allowed Tang San to stalemate Tang Hao’s Divine Slaughter’s Domain. 360
Tang Sect Secret Arts
Tang San retained and adapted the Tang Sect’s techniques from his previous life. 369
- Mysterious Heaven Skill — Cyclical internal cultivation method that reduces soul-power consumption and accelerates recovery. 369
- Purple Demon Eye — Enhances perception and provides powerful spiritual strength. 369 363
- Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — Movement technique used to evade attacks and break free of Yu Xiaogang’s grip. 10 16
- Mysterious Jade Hand — A defensive, poison-resistant hand technique; it allowed Tang San to seize Meng Yiran’s poisoned Tongue Blade unharmed. 115
- Hidden Weapons — Uses Coin Darts, Willow Leaf Knives, Bone Piercing Nails, Sleeve Arrows, and other Tang Sect armaments. 10 72
Soul Tool Hidden Weapons
Tang San seeks to surpass the Tang Sect’s traditional hidden weapons by integrating Soul Tool arrays into mechanical, throwing, and grappling weapons. 131 369
- Applies Soul Tool technology to increase hidden-weapon power and effects. 369
- Researches Soul Tools jointly with Gu You. 131
- His work creates a new path for Tang Sect weaponry. 369
Blue Silver Tyrant Emperor Spear
Tang San’s Noble Phantasm-like ultimate attack, formed through the Blue Silver Emperor and Soul Incantation. 363 369
- A blue-gold lance strengthened by Tang San, the Blue Silver Domain, and the plants within it. 363 369
- Can borrow the power of the sun and moon; clouds, rain, fog, and sandstorms prevent this borrowing. 369
- Gains its greatest offensive output under direct sunlight through Photosynthesis. 363
- Removes Tang San’s debuffs when the terrain possesses the Forest trait. 369
- First fully manifested against Tang Hao, injuring him without defeating him. 363
Self-Created Soul Skills
Tang San combines Tang Sect techniques, soul power control, and Blue Silver Grass applications into original combat methods.
- Rasengan — Successfully recreated as a Self-Created Soul Skill. 98
- Green Star — A series of attacks using plant soul beasts, including Tentacle Rose and Explosion Star. 167
- Grass Knot — Used to trip Meng Yiran after pulling her off balance. 115
- King of Execution — Used to immobilize Tai Long before interrogation. 421
