Background / History

Soul Rings are manifestations of power obtained through Soul Beast absorption or, in Li Yu’s case, formed and enhanced through the Cross-dressing System’s Free Allocation Years. Free Allocation Years can condense missing rings with perfect compatibility or increase the age of existing Soul Rings and Soul Bones. 1

Li Yu initially creates two 500-year rings without hunting Soul Beasts, then publicly obtains later rings from increasingly dangerous opponents. Her three purple rings and black fourth ring overturn accepted expectations for a four-ring Soul Master and draw widespread attention. 1 30 33

Soul Rings from ten-thousand-year Soul Beasts carry resentment and the remaining will of their former owners, making absorption especially dangerous. Li Yu’s spiritual power allows her to suppress this danger while continuing to absorb rings far beyond conventional limits. 30 37 57

Appearance

Soul Rings manifest as circular halos rising from beneath a Soul Master’s feet. Li Yu’s rings are notable for colors and patterns that exceed ordinary expectations. 1 179

Acquisition and Absorption

Soul Rings can be produced by defeated Soul Beasts and absorbed to advance a Soul Master’s cultivation. Their source may influence the ability gained, particularly for Li Yu’s Elemental Sprite Martial Soul. 7 30 57 72

• Higher-cultivation rings provide greater power but impose greater physical and spiritual strain. 30 57
• Ten-thousand-year rings contain Soul Beast resentment and require sufficient spiritual power to absorb safely. 30 37
• Li Yu can use Free Allocation Years to create rings when none are available, avoiding the need to hunt a Soul Beast. 1
• Free Allocation Years can also improve a ring’s age after acquisition. 1 72 74

Elemental Control

Li Yu’s Elemental Sprite rings grant control over distinct elements. The Soul Beast selected for each ring determines the element obtained. 72

Hundred-Thousand-Year Evolution

For Li Yu, raising certain Elemental Sprite rings to 100,000 years does not necessarily create conventional additional Soul Skills. Instead, their associated elemental entities become autonomous and more complete. 72 74

• Thunder Spirit — Can exist independently after the fifth ring reaches 100,000 years; its Thunder Element affinity reaches 100%. 72
• Thorn Dragon — Becomes an independent spatial entity after the sixth ring reaches 100,000 years. 74
  • Teleportation — Instantly moves within a 100-meter radius.
  • Shadow Fold — Folds space to conceal its user.
  • Space Leap — Performs random or fixed-point teleportation based on Soul Power and spiritual power expenditure.
