Wager and defeat

Tang San interrupted Li Yu's match and attempted to wager his joining Heaven Dou Royal Academy against learning the secret behind Li Yu's Soul Rings. When Li Yu rejected those terms, Tang San staked an External Soul Bone instead, despite the Shrek Seven Devils' concern. 35

During the ensuing fight, Tang San used Blue Silver Grass to bind Li Yu and attempted to absorb Li Yu's Soul Rings. He escalated with poison, Entanglement, and Parasite, endangering his own teammates in his pursuit of Li Yu's secret. 37 Li Yu defeated and captured Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Zhu Zhuqing; Meng Shenji declared Li Yu the winner. 39

Tang Hao ultimately removed Tang San's Eight Spider Lances to settle the wager. The loss reduced Tang San's Soul Power below level 30, and the bone was handed to Li Yu. 43 44

Blue Silver Emperor awakening

While training under Tang Hao, Tang San encountered a king-level Blue Silver Grass that rejected him as an impure outsider and attacked his sea of consciousness. 52 Tang Hao later brought him to the Blue Silver King, whose sacrifice evolved Tang San's Blue Silver Grass into the Blue Silver Emperor and raised him to level 42. 60

Apparent death and complete death

Following the battle, Tang San suddenly became a skeleton and died without leaving a trace. Li Yu suspected that he was connected to the Holy Sect as its “Holy Son.” 181

Tang San later resurfaced as the possessor of the Evil Eye Tyrant Overlord, having been controlled and exploited by the Holy Sect.
