Background / History
Wager and defeat
Tang San interrupted Li Yu's match and attempted to wager his joining Heaven Dou Royal Academy against learning the secret behind Li Yu's Soul Rings. When Li Yu rejected those terms, Tang San staked an External Soul Bone instead, despite the Shrek Seven Devils' concern. 35
During the ensuing fight, Tang San used Blue Silver Grass to bind Li Yu and attempted to absorb Li Yu's Soul Rings. He escalated with poison, Entanglement, and Parasite, endangering his own teammates in his pursuit of Li Yu's secret. 37 Li Yu defeated and captured Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Zhu Zhuqing; Meng Shenji declared Li Yu the winner. 39
Tang Hao ultimately removed Tang San's Eight Spider Lances to settle the wager. The loss reduced Tang San's Soul Power below level 30, and the bone was handed to Li Yu. 43 44
Blue Silver Emperor awakening
While training under Tang Hao, Tang San encountered a king-level Blue Silver Grass that rejected him as an impure outsider and attacked his sea of consciousness. 52 Tang Hao later brought him to the Blue Silver King, whose sacrifice evolved Tang San's Blue Silver Grass into the Blue Silver Emperor and raised him to level 42. 60
After two months of training, Tang San returned to the academy with a visibly altered, more feminine-looking Martial Soul and a ten-thousand-year fourth Soul Ring. Dai Mubai, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun were startled by his changed appearance but welcomed him back. 65
Tournament and final confrontation
Tang San remained hostile toward Li Yu throughout the tournament. He used bone conduction to communicate with Li Yu during the elimination-round announcements, exposing their continuing animosity. 137
As a Five-Ring Soul King, Tang San defeated Star Luo Royal Academy alone, overcoming Davis and Zhu Zhuyun's Martial Soul Fusion Technique with his Blue Silver Domain and Blue Silver Overlord Spear. 168
In the final confrontation with Li Yu, Tang San revealed that he had concealed his actual cultivation: he was a level 63 Six-Ring Soul Emperor. Seeking to reclaim his lost External Soul Bone and erase his humiliations, he agreed to a life-and-death battle. 175 176 His eighty-one strikes of the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique failed to move Li Yu. 177
Li Yu then severed Tang San's right leg to remove his Hundred Thousand Years Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone, causing a severe loss of Soul Power. 179 Tang Hao's intervention failed; Tang Hao and Tang Xiao were subsequently killed by Li Yu. 180
Apparent death and complete death
Following the battle, Tang San suddenly became a skeleton and died without leaving a trace. Li Yu suspected that he was connected to the Holy Sect as its “Holy Son.” 181
Tang San later resurfaced as the possessor of the Evil Eye Tyrant Overlord, having been controlled and exploited by the Holy Sect. He retained resentment over his repeated humiliations and his inability to overcome Li Yu. 252 Li Yu killed the possessed Evil Eye Tyrant Overlord, ending Tang San's life completely. 253
Appearance
After his second awakening, Tang San's Martial Soul and overall appearance became noticeably more feminine. His long hair and clothing caused Dai Mubai and Oscar to initially mistake him for someone cross-dressing. 65
- Long hair following his Blue Silver Emperor transformation. 65
- A more feminine-looking Martial Soul after his second awakening. 65
- Possessed the form of the Evil Eye Tyrant Overlord before his final death. 252 253
Personality
Tang San is calculating and determined, willing to gamble a valuable External Soul Bone to uncover Li Yu's Soul Ring secret. 35 His drive to win often turns ruthless: he attempted to take Li Yu's Soul Rings and used attacks that placed his teammates at risk. 37
After losing the Eight Spider Lances, he became intensely fixated on revenge. Tang San regarded his Blue Silver Emperor evolution, right-leg bone, and rapid cultivation as proof that he could defeat Li Yu, leading him to underestimate her repeatedly. 60 175 177
His confidence became increasingly reckless after he forcefully developed both Martial Souls. Even his teammates recognized that concealing his cultivation to secure a life-and-death battle was dangerously insidious. 175 176
