In his true descent, the Sea God appears as a stern-faced man with a divine ring behind his head. The surrounding ocean answers his arrival, clothing him in thin ceremonial robes with armor-like durability. 242

Background / History

The Sea God left a wisp of divine consciousness, or “remaining thought,” within the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud. When Li Yu's Spiritual Power entered the shroud, the remaining thought attacked her with Divine Might and condemned her for challenging a deity's control of the sea. Li Yu destroyed it and absorbed the fragment of Sea Authority it left behind. 143

The Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud was the Sea God's Heart: the core of both his inheritance and the Sea God Trident. After Li Yu attempted to fuse it with her Sprite Eternal Skull, the Sea God descended Divine Might upon Heaven Dou City to retrieve it. The God Realm Law prevented him from personally killing Li Yu, but he successfully reclaimed the shroud. 145

For many years, he suppressed the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King within the ocean, preventing the beast from becoming a god. When Li Yu threatened his interests, the Sea God lifted this suppression and allowed the whale to draw a divine tribulation, deliberately placing Li Yu, Bo Saixi, and Tang Chen within the tribulation's range. He also revoked Bo Saixi's Sea God authority, reducing her to an ordinary Level 99 Limit Douluo. 235

After Li Yu arrived at Sea God Island, the Sea God first manifested through Bo Saixi's ninth soul skill. When this projection was defeated and self-destructed, he descended in his true body and personally fought Li Yu. 240 241 242

Li Yu ultimately exhausted his divine power, severed his divine sense, and killed him. His death allowed Li Yu to obtain his authority and advance her Elemental Authority progress to four of nine. 245

Li Yu's contact with the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud awakened the Sea God's remaining thought. Its defeat gave Li Yu a trace of Sea Authority and alerted the Sea God only later, when she attempted to fuse the shroud with her skull bone. 143 145

Suppression of the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King

The Sea God's longstanding suppression prevented the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King from achieving Beast Godhood. He removed the restraint only to create a lethal divine tribulation aimed at Li Yu and his own followers. 234 235

Battle of Sea God Island

The Sea God allowed a projection to manifest through Bo Saixi, then descended in his true body after the projection failed. Li Yu fought him across Sea God Island's waters, countered his authority over the sea, and forced him into a battle of attrition. 241 242 243 244

Death and Loss of Authority

With his oceanic support neutralized and divine power depleted, the Sea God attempted to call for aid from the God Realm and offered his authority in exchange for rescue. No one saved him; Li Yu destroyed his divine sense and absorbed his authority. 245
