Background

Qian Daoliu theorizes that Tang San's long-term design involved splitting a girl's soul, hiding one fragment inside Huo Yuhao, transferring it into the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, and ultimately exploiting the Soul Beast race's fortune and the Auspicious Beast's bloodline. The proposed endgame was to bring a Soul Beast into the God Realm through a candidate for Hundred-Level Godhood, reunite the Soul Shards, and revive the girl 218.

From the God Realm, Tang San leaves controllable Divine Power in Wang Dong's body. The extreme time-flow difference between realms limits his remote commands to simple functions such as concealment, dormancy, protection, and attack 219. He also establishes surveillance measures and treats the Golden Ancient Tree and Wang Dong's connection to the Clear Sky Sect as safeguards for his plans 383.

After his schemes on Douluo Continent suffer setbacks, Tang San enters seclusion to absorb Shura God's Power of Faith. He conceals both the danger of this process and his intentions toward Douluo Star from Xiao Wu, while privately viewing Soul Masters, Soul Beasts, and exceptional talents as resources needed to secure dominance over the God of Destruction 1039.

Appearance

Tang San's appearance changes sharply according to his Divine Position and the degree to which he has absorbed the Gold Dragon King's bloodline.

  • In his Shura God state, he wears crimson armor and is surrounded by blood-red radiance; scarlet patterns writhe across his face beneath his helmet 1039.
  • He has also appeared in an ornate golden robe covered in mysterious patterns 526.
  • After consuming dragon blood, he hides beneath a black robe while masses of Blue Silver Emperor roots hang beneath him like tentacles 1318.
  • Myriad Beast Hundred Forms leaves him visibly beast-like and increasingly grotesque; his hands eventually evolve into dragon claws 1320 1366.
  • His right hand can become jade-like when using the Mystic Jade Hand 1384.

Personality

Tang San is calculating, possessive, and intensely concerned with maintaining control. He treats Douluo Continent as his personal preserve, hides forces such as the Sea God Family for covert use, and seeks to manipulate Wang Dong'er as leverage over Huo Yuhao 765 1041 1051.

He presents himself as warm and refined when politically useful, even greeting hostile Negative Gods with a smile while privately resenting their intrusion 384. This contrast becomes increasingly extreme after his ascension: Da Ming and Er Ming describe him as sanctimonious and two-faced, saying that his outward compassion conceals a willingness to slaughter entire sects 1230.

Tang San reacts viciously to opposition or perceived betrayal. He considers any treasure he desires—particularly the Golden Dragon Lance and Gold Dragon King bloodline—to be his rightful possession, and he regards hesitation in loyalty as disloyalty 1190 1342. His pursuit of strength eventually overrides restraint, driving him to orchestrate rebellion in the God Realm and consume the Gold Dragon King's power despite the mutation it causes 1310 1335.

Abilities & Skills

Sea God and Shura God Positions

Tang San possesses the First Class Sea God Position and accesses the Shura God Position through Xiao Wu, allowing him to fight as a God King.

  • Dual God Unity — Xiao Wu can exchange the Sea God and Shura Divine Powers stored between them, allowing Tang San to switch positions in battle 1318 1342.
  • All Things in Nature — A domain-type Divine Skill used against the God of Destruction 1342.
  • Shura God's Killing Intent — Produces a blood-red killing aura capable of making other God Kings feel as though they are in Shura Hell 1350.
  • Shura Domain — Can suppress opponents; a reduced version was used through the Eight Spider Lances on Douluo Continent 1206 1208.
  • Sea God Avatar — A golden projection summoned through the Eight Spider Lances, capable of using Sea God techniques in the mortal realm 1221.

Golden Thirteen Halberds

Blue Silver Emperor

Tang San's Blue Silver Emperor acts as both a binding medium and a means of infiltrating sealed spaces.

  • All Rivers Run Into the Sea — Uses an adhesive, merging effect to combine powers and bypass the God Forbidden Zone's seal without triggering its warning system 1308.
  • Bloodline extraction — Blue Silver Emperor vines pierce the Gold Dragon King's body to draw blood for Tang San to absorb 1309 1310.
  • God Forbidden Zone manipulation — Extends the sealed zone's restrictions over the God Realm Central Hub 1320.
  • Limitation — The Blue Silver Emperor could not naturally pierce the Gold Dragon King's scales and required the Dragon King to loosen them first 1309.

Eight Spider Lances External Bone

An evolving External Soul Bone that followed Tang San since Rank 30 and inherited part of his power after he became a god.

  • Devouring ability — Can consume Soul Beasts and restore its Primordial Qi 1191 1195.
  • Remote possession — Tang San attaches his Divine Sense to the Eight Spider Lances and uses it as a vessel to act on Douluo Continent 1205.
  • Devouring Gold Threads — Releases hundreds of destructive threads that force Di Tian, Du Busi, and Elder Xuan to retreat 1209.
  • Limitation — One lance is severed by Huo Yuhao's Golden Dragon Lance; the injured External Bone later hides tens of thousands of meters underground 1190.

Clear Sky Sect Techniques

Tang San uses the Clear Sky Hammer's inherited techniques alongside divine power.

  • Great Sumeru Hammer — Enhances his attacks with the power of the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King Soul Ring 1351.
  • Ring Detonation — Detonates Soul Rings to force their power into a single devastating attack, at severe cost to the body 1352.
  • Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer — Used to repel attacks from multiple God Kings 1352.
  • Mystic Jade Hand — Hardens his hand into a jade-like weapon for close combat 1384.

Hidden Weapons and Movement Techniques

Tang San relies on Tang Sect methods, though his own ability to create new martial techniques is limited.

  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — Allows abrupt, evasive movement in close combat 1363.
  • Bat Wing Reincarnation — Enables a hidden weapon to make a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree turn; Tang San combines it with Guanyin Tear and Bodhi Blood traits 1372.
  • Bodhi Blood — A top-ranked Tang Sect hidden weapon with power comparable to Guanyin Tear 1370.
  • Rapid-Flying Mushroom Sausage — Grants extreme flight speed and lets Tang San incapacitate gods across the battlefield 1363.

Gold Dragon King Bloodline

Tang San forcibly devours the Gold Dragon King's blood to increase his physical power.

  • Grants extraordinary physical strength, eventually allowing him to tear apart the Goddess of Life's Life Ancient Tree with dragon claws 1310 1366.
  • Allows him to endure attacks from multiple gods and temporarily compete at Dragon King level 1342 1343.
  • Causes Myriad Beast Hundred Forms, leaving him unable to maintain a normal human appearance 1320.
  • His greed extends to the Silver Dragon King, whose core and heart he seeks to devour after obtaining the Gold Dragon King's bloodline 1367.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Sea God Trident — Divine artifact associated with his Sea God Position; used against the Destruction Scepter 1342.
  • Shura God Sword / Shura Blood Sword — Super Divine Artifact channeling Shura Divine Power; broken by Huo Yuhao's Ichimonji Double Strike 1039 1369.
  • Eight Spider Lances External Bone — Evolving Quasi-Artifact-grade External Soul Bone and remote vessel 903 1191.

  • Rapid-Flying Mushroom Sausage — Consumable movement tool used to blitz other gods 1363.

Relationships

  • Huo Yuhao — Child of Destiny whom Tang San attempts to monitor, manipulate, capture, and ultimately kill; Huo Yuhao becomes the central force opposing and defeating him 219 1190 1384.
  • Xiao Wu — Wife and partner in Dual God Unity; she acts as the vessel for his Shura Divine Power before ultimately sacrificing herself to revive him, then renouncing him 1039 1318 1384.
