Background and History

The Phoenix Clan was one of the three ancient clans that contended for supremacy in the Prehistoric World, alongside the Dragon and Qilin Clans 240 256. From the Immortal Volcano, its members wielded Nirvana Rebirth but also acted recklessly and accumulated heavy Karmic Force. Colorful Phoenix admitted that the clan had sought to detonate the volcano's core, threatening living beings across the south 273 276.

During the three-clan conflict, Rahula coerced and used the Phoenix Clan. Ancestor Yin Yang later stole primal yang origin from Primordial Phoenix and other members, damaging their Dao and leaving the clan predominantly female 276 277. After the Dragon-Phoenix Tribulation, the depleted clan remained responsible for containing the Immortal Volcano: another eruption could bring about its annihilation, while Vermilion Bird stood ready to replace it if it failed 254.

Lu Jun's Golden Crow brothers later anchored a formation that suppressed and channeled the volcano's fire essence, freeing the Phoenix Clan from that duty 281 491. The clan then aided Xi He's Mother of Sun work by sending controlled divine flames to help living beings. Primordial Phoenix also rallied members to earn merit and reduce their Karmic Force, presenting a bid for a Heavenly Dao Saint position as a shared goal 302 352.

On Jiquan Star, the Phoenix Clan is based in the Parasol Immortal Realm and governed by Phoenix Emperor Feng Xi and its elders 709. Its history extends beyond that planet: the clan lost its former Southern Phoenix star domain, while scattered branches remain in the Main Star Domain. The Phoenix God and Empress Phoenix God are said to be alive but have not awakened from Nirvana 762 792 795.

• Nirvana Fire — the Jiquan Star clan's fire can attack the soul as well as the body. Feng Xi demonstrated a secret soul-attack art against Lu Jun, whose defense repelled it 734.
• Fire Dao arts — Phoenix cultivators practice distinct arts of fire, rebirth, combat and cultivation support. Yan Wu's War Dance True Flames emphasizes bursts of power, control and sustained combat 493.
