The sky had fallen.
The car sped down the road. Lu Chengwen pulled out his phone, dialed at once, and waited anxiously.
He still had to remind Zhao Ritian, "Keep looking back and see if they're chasing us!"
"They're not! I'm watching!" Zhao Ritian said firmly. "They're all in the grass with their asses in the air looking for the antidote!"
Lu Chengwen patted the driver's seat. "Go straight to the nearest airport!"
The call finally connected.
Jiang Yuanzheng said with a laugh, "Yo, if it isn't my rich and handsome niece's son-in-law! Hahaha!"
Lu Chengwen was baffled. "You're still laughing?! How's the Jiang Family right now?"
"Not great." Beneath Jiang Yuanzheng's teasing tone, there was no hiding the heaviness in his heart. "The Father said being dizzy doesn't mean you can play dead. If the sky falls, you hold it up. The Jiang Family never once thought this world would stay peaceful forever."
Lu Chengwen said, "What are the attitudes of the other families?"
"Heh, what attitude could they have? Just saying slippery, fence-sitting stuff. You know, calling on all sides to exercise restraint, saying they're willing to act as a neutral force and preside over negotiations, that kind of thing."
"All three families have that attitude?" Lu Chengwen was frantic.
"You're not going to ask about your wife and child?"
"I'm asking you what attitude the other three families have."
Jiang Yuanzheng felt a little gratified. "You really are one of the Jiang Family. They all have that attitude."
"That's great! If we can get them to unite and put pressure on the Elder Council..."
"Impossible. Which of those three families would stick their neck out? And do you know how many families are kicking us while we're down? Right now, a lot of major families are helping
