Background / History

Su Mo was a martial-arts enthusiast in his previous life, self-taught in numerous martial arts and traditional weapons. After reincarnating into Douluo Continent, he recognized the world from fiction and approached his Martial Soul awakening with full awareness of its importance. He was orphaned and raised by his aunt’s family. 1 3

At age six, Su Mo awakened the Soul Hunting Spear, a sharp black Weapon Spirit, alongside only Rank 2 Innate Soul Power. He also sensed a second Martial Soul awakening in his left hand, but it immediately disappeared. Bibi Dong subsequently became bound within his Spirit Space, initially viewing his poor talent as a barrier to her own recovery. 1 6 80

Bibi Dong attempted to steer Su Mo toward Yu Xiaogang, believing Yu might solve his talent problem. Yu Xiaogang rejected Su Mo because of his Rank 2 Innate Soul Power, prompting Su Mo to abandon the idea of relying on either of them and pursue strength independently. 7 11 46

He is strategic in combat and political decisions alike. He uses terrain and weaponry against stronger opponents, blocks enemy Martial Soul Fusion Skills before they can form, and refuses Bibi Dong’s request to kill Yu Xiaogang because doing so would expose her to greater dangers. 18 80 122

Su Mo initially refuses to treat Xiao Wu as prey despite knowing her value as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast, and he acts against Bu Le to protect an abducted child.
